This book is simply illuminating. I have been a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt for a very long time. Kaizen events are very powerful if well structured and well planned. Karen’s book is straight to the point , very well thought of, easy to follow and to understand. Kaizen is presented neatly, by phases of chartering , planning, execution and closure. Finally, a suite of elegant , detailed and comprehensive templates provides the reader with the hand-on experience. Thank you Karen

This authors provide a comprehensive guidance to Kaizen Event. Specifically, I like the arrangement of chapters in accordance to the event process (Preparation, Execution, Wrap-up, and Follow-up). Chapter 12-15 are the best part of the book because these chapters describe clearly about the roadmap of office Kaizen project. Excellent. I expect to see a real example of Kaizen Event planner in Appendix in future.

This is the companion book to the author's Kaizan field book. This book goes more into the why's with examples.

Kaizen events seem easy but they are not. And one of the most neglected aspects is planning. For a kaizen event to be successful, it is important to have a standard method of setting up the event, gathering the data, assigning the teams, getting the practicalities organized, and engaging the sponsor. Similarly, during the event it is vital to ave a clear-cut, standardized method of addressing the problems, root causes, possible solutions, rapid experiments, and so forth. This book does an excellent job of showing you how to do this. It also has an emphasis on kaizen in the office & service functions, rather than manufacturing. And it has a CD with all kinds of templates you can use. I have used this book with my own customers so they have a clear step-by-step formula. It works and it works well.

If you are planning a Kaizen event, this is a great resource / tool. I'm a Six Sigma Green Belt and recently went thru Lean training. Our company recently held 2 Kaizen Events and used this planner as our foundation tool. This tool made the event a breeze to conduct, easy to document and follow-up on key post-event activities and deadlines a snap. Solid resource...now they need to create a Six Sigma version...

I bought the book but would be great to get the CD as well, anyone can help with this?

I have been leading and facilitating kaizen events for nearly a decade and was excited to utilize this new book from Karen and Mike. Several times while reading I found myself shaking my head thinking, "that's exactly right!" Too many times we order a good looking book title only to be let down with more theory and less practical application? This book and their Value Stream Mapping book due out soon could become staple training materials for our continuous improvement leaders. Rick Eberts - Global Lean Manager Energizer

This is another great tool from Karen Martin. It's easy to understand, easy to follow, I often refer to it during my events. It helps prepare and deliver solid Lean events. A must with her other books: "Metrics Based Process Mapping" and "Value Stream Mapping".

The book and disc compliment each other very well with great detail provided, i would recommend this book to those running kaizen events
