Smart Scale for Body Weight, 8-Electrode Scale with Handle

UPDATE: The company got in touch with me and sent a new scale immediately. This one turns on, on touch, and seems to be reading consistently. Thanks so much for the hasty resolve! For all the positives i found with this scale, plus the fact that it seems accurate now, I would highly recommend. Seems I just had a faulty model. Cliff notes: Great mobile app and nice looking scale, but it gets 2 stars because it's wildly inaccurate at measuring weight (which is of course the most important feature of a scale) and is really hard to turn on (lightly tapping does not work). I've tried other smart scales, so know how one of these should behave. Here I'll go into more details. First the good: 1) The mobile app is great, and it provides a plethora of longitudinal information, more than my previous scale and it's great that it automatically syncs to the arboleaf app and IOS health app. It can also tell when someone who weighs significantly different than me isn't me, so their data doesn't get stored on my profile 2) It's an attractive scale Reason for 2 stars: 1) It's wildly inaccurate. This has been an issue since day 1, but i never got around to contacting them about this and am probably too late at this point. I currently weigh 200 lbs. Today, for example, the scale first told me I weighed 185, then I tried again and it said 191. Then I tried a third time and it said 181. I waited a few hours later for good measure and it finally said 199 (which I assume is correct). It's so inconsistent, I never know what I'm going to get. Sometimes I can't even get it to zero out before I step on the scale. For context, I'm using it on a hardwood floor. 2) It says "tap" to turn on, then wait for it to zero out, then step on the scale...but I've never once been able to just "tap" the scale to turn it on. There isn't a sweet spot either. I have to press my foot somewhat hard and put my weight into it several times for it to turn on. 3) When you weigh yourself, all it shows on the scale is your weight. It would be nice if it showed your body makeup as well (fat %, water %, etc.) on screen like many other smart scales do, but you have to log into the mobile app to see these details. Summary: I'd probably look elsewhere if I were you. I've tried taking out the batteries and putting them back in, but nothing seems to fix it. Maybe I got a faulty one, but if not, this scale should be a pass for future buyers.

This scale is awesome! You don’t need to spend up to $500 on one! This one has over 50 analytical details in a report it gives you. I was really impressed with the initial setup process. It took me about 10 minutes to unbox it, download the app, set up my profile and sync my phone to the scale via Bluetooth. The app has a great user experience. It’s easy to navigate and the reports are given in a way that makes the information easy to understand. I also love that you can sync to Apple health and keep your historical data if you are switching from a different smart scale. Additionally, it was super quick and easy to add other users so others in the household can have their own profiles! Be sure to read the instructions for initial use. You will want to first ensure it’s calibrated correctly (that it is set to 0.00 lbs when nothing is on it). Luckily, the app identifies if there’s an issue with calibration and prompts you to recalibrate if there is! You will also want to ensure you are standing on it properly and holding the handle properly. In regard to size and appearance, I would say it’s comparable to other scales - nothing out of the normal, aside from having the handle with electrodes that you will use when weighing). It is beautiful though!

I love being able to look back and see the changes instead of focusing only on what the scale says on any particular day. One of the biggest reasons I chose the 8-electrode scale with the handle was its versatility and the amount of information it provides. As I’m losing weight, I especially want to keep an eye on my body fat and muscle measurements. My goal isn’t simply to see my weight go down—I want to make sure I’m losing fat while maintaining as much muscle as possible. The display is another feature I really like. It shows 7 key measurements right on the scale, so I can get a quick snapshot without always opening the app. When I want more detail, the app gives me access to 50+ metrics and my complete trend history. The button responsiveness and overall operation have been great, and the scale feels like it’s made from good-quality material. The handle stores neatly with the scale, and I also appreciate its portability if I need to move it or put it away. I really enjoy seeing the graphs change as I make progress. It keeps me motivated and gives me a much better picture of what’s happening with my body than weight alone. Excellent quality, informative display, easy-to-use app, and so many useful measurements. Setup is very simple. Bluetooth sync is required to your mobile device in order to provide analysis for your weigh-in. Now here's my only reason for a star ⭐ drop. If you're a taller individual, there's not enough slack on the retractable handle cord w/ fingertip nodes. So expect to do a lot of hunching over while the scale performs your weight calibration. Overall - I am very satisfied I have a reliable scale that I can share relevant and pertinent information with the proper channels for maintaining a healthy weight.

All I wanted was a digital scale that DID NOT do the thing where it says the exact same weight every time you step on it, including after taking a big dump. That's what my last two scales did, and from reading lots of reviews (particularly reading the one star reviews) and lots of comment threads online it appears that virtually all digital scales do this as an artifical way of making the scale seem consistent. The workaround was to weigh yourself holding an object that weighs a couple pounds to "clear" the memorized weight and weigh yourself again. This is the only scale I've found with which no one said it did this in the one star reviews, everyone says it's a good scale as far as measuring weight goes. Sure enough, it works perfectly. You can see the weight changing with your body shifting as it tasks itself with figuring out the average, and if you weigh yourself again it might change by .2 or so, which is what I actually want to see as it makes sense that it can vary depending on body movement. And it works great as just a scale if you don't want to use the app. The scale itself is very slick. I wear size 12 wide and it's plenty big enough. It's very easy to read, and the app is very nice. My BMI read the same as what my doctors office told me it was. I have doubts as to whether or not all that data really comes from the sensors, but it is interesting to look at the data and it's great how it keeps track. I've already lost over 5 pounds and 1.2% of my body fat since I got it and it charts out your weight changes and body fat changes over time.

Is it the perfect scale? No. But, from what I can tell it's the closest thing out on the market for my purposes. By my standards, a perfect scale would probably run 10 times the price, so this still would be better than that hypothetical perfect scale when considering value. I must say, it is extremely gratifying to see a graph of my weight loss over time. The other metrics are also interesting to look at, I can't vouch for their accuracy, and I'm sure most of them are primarily derived from the weight itself, they are still useful to give direction. It works as advertised and the app is well designed. My only slight complaint is that I often have to step on the scale a second or third time for the app to sync to the scale and collect the data, luckily it saves my completed data so I don't have to re-weight myself each time. It would be nice to be able to hook it up to a router for (non internet) communication over wifi, but I understand that such technology is not practical or cost effective for a rarely on, battery powered device. I believe this is more a case of my phone's Bluetooth not being optimally usable immediately after turning it on (since I only turn it on when I am going to use it), but it's still a minor annoyance. For reference I use a Nexus 6P on Android 8.1.0. The scale itself looks and feels nice, provides accurate weight measurements, and can handle my rather high weight (290 lbs at the start) without issue. I have used it daily for the past 3+ months. As someone who extensively researches my purchases (less for cost than because I don't want to have to buy something else later, too much effort), I am more than satisfied with this scale.

I bought both the Arboleaf and the Renpho scales to compare. They basically come up with the exact same weight and details. The Renpho is $30 less than these scales but are not as visually appealing as the Arboleaf. I believe both scales are pretty accurate when it comes to weight however, the other measurements are subject to the information you put in about yourself. If you use sports mode then it says I am the same age I entered no matter what age I put in when I make a profile, If I leave it in normal mode it says I am two years younger at any age I try it at. The sports mode puts my measurements much less than the none sports mode which means this technology is giving details according to rules of how its been programed to and not on the actual reading of the person's body. This is exactly the same outcome for the Renpho. I would say that no scale out there has the ability to accurately read a person's inner fat, water etc and we are probably away from it. Put aside these are both great scales for weight and for me the Arboleaf looks better in my bathroom.
