This is a must read for anyone looking to learn how to increase quality and yield of their crops. Every year it needs to be reread because there is so much information you tend to forget it over the course of the year. You could easily waste money buying the wrong fertilizer and applying at the wrong time. Better to be educated or at least have a background to ask the right questions to the so called experts.

I know of no other place that lays these optimum levels and their relationship out so plainly and so easy to comprehend
I have been following Neal since before he wrote the first edition of Hands-On Agronomy. His insight into soil fertility as outlined by Dr. Albrecht continues to inspire me and should be required reading by anyone looking to understand the relationship of all living organisms to the balance of nutrients available in the soil. Optimum production of any crop is only achieved with proper levels of all major, secondary and micronutrients. I know of no other place that lays these optimum levels and their relationship out so plainly and so easy to comprehend.

Wish I Found This Book Sooner
Honestly, this book has so much information it's a bit overwhelming, but definitely worth it if you can get through it. My mind was blown by how clear the research and writing is regarding soil health. If we know all this, and have for so long, why aren't more of us acting on it urgently and at scale?! Can't wait to put some of this information to use.

Good book
Book content is great. However a lot of the sentences have no spaces between words. Tryreadinglikethisforahundredpages. Ugh

Kinsey takes the blindfold off!
Adding compost, fertilizer or planting cover crops is just a shot in the dark without knowing what your soil really needs, in fact you can even overdo a good thing! Kinsey explains your soils needs in descending order from the most important to the ones to take care of after the "big picture" is accomplished, and what happens when you have too much of a good thing. Anyone from the backyard gardener to the large scale farmer or rancher will understand the importance of the basic building blocks of the soil and best of all, an explanation of why for each mineral and nutrient. It will remain an important reference book for me for as long as I have anything to do with a garden, crops, or livestock.

Great reading for anyone who is concerned about the health ...
Great reading for anyone who is concerned about the health of their soil and making sure your products have the necessary micronutrients, whether it be livestock or garden products. I've read many, many books on soil health and this in one of my favorites right next to my books from Albrecht.
