Excellent product. Used for outdoor Ham Radio wire antenna supports using pulleys and deadweights. Paracord and similar lines do not hold up with the constant rubbing as the tree supports move in the wind. The Dacron Polyester is designed for sailboats, so it fits this application very well. Just make sure to get the right size line for your pulley.

Great rope that is usable for various projects. I have it on lightweight and medium weight projects, mostly outdoors, and its held up wonderfully. The 1/8th width makes it perfect for tarps and other tie-downs. Price is perfect and I have zero complaints overall.

This is your standard roll of poly all purpose line. If you’re not familiar with Dacron polyester line, it’s a two-part construction with a twisted line on the inside and braided exterior; so when it’s cut, it frays, unless you melt the ends with a lighter. It does not stretch like nylon line/paracord, it’s good in marine environments and it resists breakage. I love having some of this stuff on hand because it’s great for everything. 1/8” is a smaller diameter so its primary use will be for lighter scale projects although this stuff is extremely strong. Need to tie down items in the back of your truck? lash items to your backpack? Bundle items? Rig a tent? All perfect applications.

I want to start with a note regarding knotting with thin polyester line in general (not this product in particular). The outer braid of such line can be quite firm and slick hence some knots which depend largely on friction against the line itself may not hold well, particularly when the line is new. I tested three knots (all pictured) including a taut line hitch which you might use to secure and tension the rainfly over a tent for example. The hitch depends on linear line friction and not surprisingly it tended to slip with anything more than moderate tension. I also tested a square knot which held reasonably well under tension and a bowline knot which held very well. This is well constructed thin polyester line. The Braid is even and firm yet supple. Line diameter measured 1/8" with calipers. The line evidences almost no stretch which is characteristic of polyester. The ends splay quickly when cut with a knife so if you want a tight, neat end use a hot knife or secure with tape before cutting and whipping by melting with a flame. Despite knotting limitations I find thin polyester line such as this to be useful for many applications so have some on hand around the house, in the car and on the boat at all times. I'm confident this line will serve well, consistent with the properties of polyester, and I would order it again.

This is a polyester 1/8" cord or rope. I plan to use this on camping trips for various conveniences such as a clothesline and shelter fly tie-downs. And just over-all handy to have rope like this available. This rope does not have a lot of give or stretch, which is what I need. I'm also going to wrap a hatchet handle as it has a good feel and would make the perfect handle grip. The cost is great for 100 feet. It will unravel pretty easily but you can use a lighter or match to gently melt the ends to prevent that. I also like that it has a UV coating to prevent sunlight damage. Weave a net for catching fish or bounding tree limbs together for a shelter, there are so many uses for this rope!! And its black and blends in with nature better.
