I struggled for years with cheap trash cans in my kitchen. The last one was white plastic, so cheaply made that the popup mechanism on the lid broke so it opened when the front pedal was depressed but didn't close itself. Forget about being hands-free! After the cheapo can slid out from my foot and fell over, I had had enough. I jumped on Amazon to find the best trash can I possibly could, and I was successful. This trash can simply rocks. It is heavy enough to stay in place. The soft-close lid works like a charm. The pedal is heavy-duty and will last a very long time. The whole inner plastic can is easy to work with and makes removing and replacing trash bags easy. Finally, it looks amazing! I never thought that my kitchen decor would be improved by a trash can, but this one did it. It it perfect? Close. There are a couple of things that could be improved. The lid-locking sliding button on my unit cannot be put into place by opening the lid all the way with the pedal and then sliding it into the locking position. I found that I have to slightly push the lid backward for the sliding lock to go fully into place. Then when the pedal is released, the lid stays fully out of the way when trash bags are removed and replaced. I also found that traditional trash bags from the store cannot fit onto the inner trash can without seriously stretching them. It takes some muscle. It means that children and the elderly may not be able to change the trash bag if using typical tall kitchen trash bags. I took the easy way out of this situation by ordering trash bags specifically for the trash can from the manufacturer (simplehuman). Because there are quite a few of the sample bags sent with the trash can, it took me weeks to run out of them. I found them to be quite superior to everyday trash bags because they are folded and not rolled, very easy to open and use, and they appear to be more durable than conventional trash bags. I am very satisfied with the trash bags and especially the trash can. This product is clearly more expensive than other trash cans, but it is very worth the cost and quite stylish. It may be one of the only utilitarian items in your kitchen that you frequently get compliments on.

What can someone say about a trashcan that will get people to buy it? Well, as the video shows - if it can get my teenager to throw things away, it’s worth it! 😂 Seriously, I bought the SimpleHuman trashcan because I was sick of buying subpar plastic cans that either were too small, or the lid would break after a few weeks, or it was easy for my dogs to get into. This can solved all three of those problems ✔️✔️✔️. To boot, you can pack a ton of trash in this thing. And for a family that hates taking out the trash that’s an extra added bonus! 🤘🏼We have had this trashcan for a few years now and have had zero issues. I would absolutely recommend. We are thinking about to get the composting attachment before the holidays 🍁🍁 Pros - 1. Slim design lets the can fit almost anywhere. 2. It’s not an eyesore, so you can have it anywhere. 3. Easy open engineering makes it the best companion for the always chopping chef. Cons - 1. Trash bags are expensive if you buy the brand bags. But there are plenty of dupes out there that work great. 2. The recycling side could be a bit bigger - but honestly, it’s not been a problem.

this a sturdy trash can. great quality. looks great in the kitchen. easy to remove bags and replace them because there is a little ledge inside that the inner container can rest on. the lid doesn't slam and closes quietly. the only complaint is minor - if you want to keep the lid open there is a plastic button that you slide in position. it's difficult to slide this button. maybe it will get easier over time? also, the simple human trash bags are definitely much stronger than the Hefty or Glad we used to buy with our old trash can. these bags don't tear!

We love this Trash Can. So easy to use and clean. Brushed Stainless Steel fits so nicely in our kitchen. Bags are very sturdy and simple to take out and put in new ones. The step to open lid is very convenient and works perfectly. Highly recommend this product.

Nice can! Shiny and sleek looking. Fits a 30 gallon bag. There is not a lot of space for garbage crumbs to get stuck inside unlike the last one I owned. Easy close lid. You can hide the garbage bag inside. Yes, it’s pricey for a garbage can but it’s a luxury model.

Hot off the delivery truck just now! Maybe this review is a bit premature, but I love this trash bin! It came in mint condition--not a dent, ding, or scratch! Extremely well packaged (pictures included). It came with SimpleHuman trash bags--package of 10 bags for each bin. I typically use 13 gallon Hefty brand kitchen bags and they fit fine. There are finger-sized holes in the back of each removable bin to tuck excess bag into, so you dont have to purchase the SimpleHuman bags if you dont want to. The easy close lid is nice and slow...its not going to slam down on fingers. It fits great in a small kitchen space. I did pick the bin up and place it in my kitchen from out of the box, and NO FINGERPRINTS were left behind! The trash bin has a silver-ion coating that resists fingerprints and germs per the easy-peel stick-on that was attached to the front of the bin. The recycling bin (left side) is larger (I bought it for this reason specifically), but you do you---if you produce more trash than recyclables, then make the larger bin for trash. All in all, I am super happy with this purchase!

We've had this for about 2 months. It's a waste bin for the kitchen but it's one of the most beautiful, elegant, easy to clean objects in the house. £150 for a bin seems extravagant but I think in this case, you really do get what you pay for. The simplehuman bin liners that came with it are an excellent fit and very strong and although replacements are expensive, I'll most definitely buy them from simplehuman as there's just no comparison with generic bags from the supermarket. The bin itself is beautifully designed with small air gaps at the base of the "bucket" the bag sits in so you can expand the bag easily without it billowing out of place. The stainless steel exterior is very easy to wipe down if anything gets spilled onto it. There is a recess at the back of the bin (I think it's supposed to be used for hiding any excess liner but with this there is no excess) so you can lift it with one hand whilst you vacuum underneath with the other and there's an extra half inch or so of the base at the back so that it doesn't push right up against a wall so you can get your fingers into that recess easily. All in all I'd be hard pressed to find a better bin and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who's in need of a new kitchen bin.

Received in perfect condition. 30 litter holds lots. Need only 20 litter but don't make. Hade a butterfly but found it awkward and let smell out. No smell out with this one. Works we.

Me encanto, es igual que la foto. Creo que si es caro pero vale totalmente la pena, es muy sencillo separar la basura y le queda cualquier bolsa, sino quieres comprar las que requiere el bote, aunque después de utilizarlas son una buena opción. Perfect size. Simple pedal design with a soft close lid. Lids locks open for easy emptying. Even comes with free sample bin liners. The two bins are the perfect size compromise for the amount of space it takes up and the volume of trash/recycling it will hold. The best bit is the Simplehuman bin liners. They fit perfectly, they’re strong, and they’re cheap. I ordered refills from the Simplehuman website and they arrived post free for less than I can buy standard liners from the supermarket. The bin itself is beautiful quality. You like German engineering? This is right up there. Good, no, great quality stainless steel outer skin and lid, resists finger marks and wipes clean in an instant. The pedal mechanism is reassuringly robust and it just works. Not many things are teenager proof but they haven’t managed to kill this yet after a year. The base has wheels at the back for easy maneuvering in tight spaces. The lid fits perfectly so no smells creep out overnight to stink out your kitchen. The plastics are kept to a minimum but what is used is super high quality and shows no sign of wear. One wipe with a damp microfiber cloth and it looks brand new again. Very smart design that will look great in even the most high class kitchens. 6 stars all round.
