TTT: Tattoo: A Book by Sang Bleu

Of all the recent tattoo books available, this is the one to go for. The sheer level of detail within these pages is quite staggering and is of a high quality throughout. The authors clearly understand modern history of tattooing and guides the reader in its future direction as well as respecting the past. The book focuses on tattooists and studios of pretty much all styles and includes some great photography of the work of tattooing's modern day pioneers such as Filip Leu, Alex Binnie, Duncan X, Thomas Hooper, etc. There are to my mind however, some baffling omissions - why for example are there no profiles on Jondix, Horiyoshi III, or Alexander Grim (even though there's an entire section on contemporary Russian tattooing)? There's certainly enough scope on the topic for a second volume and hopefully these visionary tattooists will be included. Regardless, this is a book well worth investing in and celebrating.
