Great Choice
This is amazing and smells like Ribena. Perfect with a cider.

Too sweet
Tried a bottle of this as a potential buy in UK substitute for my usual L'Heritier-Guyot cassis. Nice bottle and a useful plastic non-drip pourer, but it had far too much sugar. Even with a dry white, the resulting kirs were overpoweringly sweet. Shame.

Nice for Kir
The Giffard Creme De Cassis has 18% Alcohol and a nice fruity flavor, it is also not too sweet. The only downside is the price tag; but, on a market with far less competition than in France and a very limited variety of good Creme de Cassis to pick from, the Giffard branded CdC surely found its way into my liquor cabinet.

Disappointed with the taste
Reading about kir royale, I decided to make it at home. However, I was disappointed. Not only didn't I like the cocktail, but the taste of the liqueur on it's own. It doesn't have much flavour or sweetness, so it's quite strange. I suppose all is a matter of taste and this is not my thing.
