Kaytee Exact Rainbow Pet Parrot & Conure Food, 4 Pound

I'm very satisfied with the item I received in a timely manner! ( Kaytee Rainbow parrot food is excellent and my parrot loves it!!

I've been using this for many years I have a 14 yr old African gray, Sully.. and he seems to enjoy it. It's his staple and I do give him other things. I like that I can buy it in bulk and not have to go to the pet store and spend an arm a leg. Thanks Kaytee! And a side note he seems to pick favorites out of the colors this month he doesn't seem to like yellow, lol. I don't imagine that they're different flavors but he's a funny guy. I love how this review is asking me about the flavor I do keep it in a container that seals so it stays fresh.

Birds love it

I transitioned my Double Yellow Headed Amazon to this because I was tired of all the small filler seeds in most parrot foods. I felt like I was throwing away a third of the bag because they fill parrot food with small seeds like sunflower seeds that she just won't eat. I made sure to transition her into the new food by a first mixing her old food and the new food 50/50 and then slowly incorporating less of the older food until the old bag of food ran out. She is about 12 years old and has been on seed and nut based food her whole life but did well with this and eats the pellets without a problem. Accessional when I fill the bowl there will certain color left behind but its a not a lot so I'm not worried about it. All the pieces are about the same size so I don't have a problem with her just picking out the larger pieces and leaving behind all of the small stuff. I might try some of the zupreem brand pellets in the future but will definitely be keeping her on pellet food.

Milo is my adopted Nanday Conure. We adopted him from the MSPCA shelter some 10+ years ago. At that time Milo’s age was thought to be approximately 14-18 years old. This is the food that the shelter sent us home with. Over the many years he has enjoyed many different varieties of food but he still enjoys this.

I feed this 50/50 to my Congo African Grey, and 50/50 to my Sun Conure (so funny they are both in the picture! Lol!) My CAG gets it mixed with Vitakraft Menu Vitamin Fortified Parrot Food, my Sun Conure gets it mixed with Kaytee Forti Diet Pro Health, and while my CAG loves them my Sun Conure tries to eat only seeds, and treats! Totally a spoiled brat, but this is the only kibble she will eat, so must be good! Of course they both also get different sources of calcium, and fresh fruits, & veggies throughout the week along with the occasional peanut butter treat, but if we had to board them while we go on vacation I would be totally comfortable having them being fed just the kibble, and seeds. My birds are really healthy girls with great plumage, beaks, nails, and bright eyes! Their minds are really active, and generally in happy moods most of the time as well- another sign of good nutrition. I would recommend this kibble every time when fed in combination with fresh foods, and seeds. My only complaint is it is not a zip lock top, so has to be stored in an airtight container, and the first shipping box was completely destroyed by carrier, but true to form Amazon sent out a replacement, and I received it the next day. So my best advice is not to wait to order until you are, or will be completely out- order the week before. ;)

I know it's got a afican Grey on it. However this food is not large enough for them. Great for a conure not a parrot that is large. Food is fresh Kaytee has reduced food coloring. These is a great way to feed a balanced diet .again look at photos and descriptions . Arrives fast and no more going to the store to see they are out stock

I just love this product in all it's sizes! I got this particular size for my two conures. My meyers parrot eats a slightly larger sized pellet of the same kind. They all absolutely love it, just like many other birds I have cared for over the last 17 years. I recommend giving this pellet a try in any of the different sizes, so it is appropriate to your bird. Also, on a side note, these are great pellets for weaning, and for just giving a warm, moist treat. They can be wet with hot water, then let it sit, where your bird cannot reach, and the pellets will soak up the water. Then give it, still warm. Larger birds will eat it on their own. Smaller, or weaning birds, may have to be finger fed.
