Almost perfect, definitely works well
I gave this 5 stars because it works very well, but wish I could give it 4.5 instead—ONLY because the way they chose to do the plug on the camera side. While it’s very secure when screwed into place, makes it very difficult to get the wings through even a relatively large 3/4” hole if the material you’re going though has any thickness to it. If they had just done the 90-degree elbow barrel connector like Ring’s own solar panel connection, it would be a lot easier. I’ll explain more in a minute. I ordered and installed two of these, one for each of my two Ring Spotlight Cams (both the typical battery style), and this is my experience. First, once it’s connected, it works great. It’s fantastic to never have to deal with climbing a ladder to change the battery anymore. It has no problem keeping the battery at 100% no matter how heavy the activity. This item replaces the solar panel concept with power from the wall using a USB charger instead. It actually charges the battery very quickly, at least as fast as the battery itself plugged directly in and charging outside the cam. Sadly, the Ring Spotlight Cam still requires a battery to be inserted. It can’t be powered solely from the power port like you can with the Ring Stick Up Cam. I’m guessing this is because the power demand from the LED floodlights is greater than they expect to get from the power port, and technically they only support the power port for solar charging the battery. Solar only provided power when the sun is up, so of course you can’t expect to get power from a panel at night. Second, the cord itself is flat, which is nice. While I never measured the cord fully extended to check their claim that it’s 25 feet long, I believe it. It was way longer that I needed for either installation. Now regarding installation, I had no intention of tacking the cord to a wall over and up to the cam, and I didn’t really have any outside plugs near the cams to use anyway. One cam is installed over my garage and the other over the door to my shed. The shed install was easier. I first tried pushing the winged connector to the camera out from the inside, but that was no good. I then realized I could push the USB connector end through the 3/4” hole I drilled near the top of the wall, and that was a piece of cake. I have power to my shed, so I just popped it through and plugged it into the included USB adapter and plugged that into the wall. Easy peasy. However, for the cam over the garage I had to install a new outlet in the attic space to plug it into. I drilled a 3/4” hole into the soffit (eave) next to the cam, but because of the design of the house there was no good way to get the USB end through the face of the soffit and then up over a small rise through a gap of only a few inches into the attic space. So I had to do it the other way around, feeding a fish tape up through the hole into the attic space, then in the attic tape the cord near the cam connector to the end of the fish tape, and then go back down and pull the fish tape and cord through the hole. The problem is that those wings they have on there made it a bear to get the connector through the hole. It’s an odd shape, and I had to work at it and work at it, basically pry it through with a screwdriver and just hope I didn’t end up messing it up. Cosmetically it was a little worse for wear, but no one else will ever see it, and once installed on the camera it functioned perfectly. So the end result is it works great, and I’m glad I got it. I can run the settings all the way up on the cam no matter how many warnings the app gives about decreasing battery life, because the battery never drops below 100% now. Love it! I just wish they’d skipped the unnecessary screw-in design with the wings sticking out either side of the barrel connector and just gave us a barrel connector on its own. The screws are overkill, and the design makes it hard to install through a hole. PS I don’t know whether the included USB charging adapter you plug into the wall is high quality or not. It’s a little bulky, but so far no problems. The good news is that if it ever goes out you can just grab any other standard USB power adapter out of your junk drawer (ideally rated to provide 1A or more) and neither the cam nor the cord itself will care.

TOTALLY WORTH THE MONEY!!!!!
Hi Folks, I am a AMAZON purchasing Addict! But, I don't always Love or sometimes even Like some of the products I buy from AMAZON and have no problem sending them back either through USPS, FEDEX, UPS or the new way they have taking it to a KOHL's and dropping it off there. I would say for every 10 Items I order at least 3 of them go back because they either lied about the look or function or the thing just didn't work. Before I purchased this RING power adapter I had ordered another type from a different company that was just 100% Garbage. I kept it hooked up for 2 weeks and the battery finally died for lack of charge. This RING Camera is the Solar Powered model and it did work whenever the sun could get to the solar panel which was next to impossible because my driveway where the camera is mounted is blocked by 2 big trees that gives off great shade and coolness, but for something solar powered it sucks!! I even mountedthe solar panel near the top of one of the trees and got limited results because my Cam is pointed facing a street and every car that goes by sets it off, so it was activating quicker than the solar panel could charge it. So, I purchased a 2nd Battery, fully charged it before putting it in and that helped, but it only prolonged the death of both batteries. I then saw this charger and read the reviews, of course you will ALWAYS find 1 star reviews but I believe it's the same guy who gives EVERYTHING 1 stars on all sites, lol. When I got this charger I was pissed because I ordered BLACK being that my RING CAM is Black, so now I have this 25 foot WHITE cord and charger that needs to be mounted on the BLACK cam and placed down the wall into the garage and stapled across the walls to the outlet.... Whatever, One battery was dead at 5% and the other was reading 25% near death, I figured if it don't work it would give me 2 reasons to send it back! Hooked it up, ran the wire to the AC Outlet, Plugged it in and waited like watching your tea water boil when you first put it on the stove. 2 Mins later the 25% Battery moved to 26%, This was at 8:10PM Friday Night. I checked my RING Phone App again at 2:00AM Saturday Morning and the 26% had jumped to 53% and the 2nd Battery was at 11%. Woke up at 10:00 AM Saturday Morning and was reading 86% & 45% on Both Batteries. Went out for the day and noticed the RING CAM picked up a lot of traffic that day (I live on a quiet block, not the main street), but the Batteries were reading 96% & 87% respectively. Woke up on Sunday Morning to what you see above 100% & 100%! THIS CHARGER REALLY WORKS!!! And I'm not even pissed anymore that they sent the wrong color. 5 STARS ALL THE WAY!

Perfect option to replace charging batteries
This item was just what i was looking for i was tired of recharging my batteries all the time in my ring spotlight cam and it wasn't in the best location for a solar panel i was ready to just buy a different camera until i found this power cord the length was perfect item seems to be really good quality had no trouble setting it up and getting it connected to the camera and it keeps my battery charged to 100% all day long and you only need one battery for it to work you don't have to have both battery's have had zero connectivity issues since installed

Trivial to install, works great, allows you to us all the camera features.
Perfect fit, works great. I was a little dubious that this would fit under a closed window without causing difficulty with the seal of the window. To my surprise, it did work, and did so quite well. The proprietary end made to plug into the camera fits very snugly. There is a small rubber cap sealing the place on back of the camera that you have to remove before you can plug this in (it’s the rubber cap between the two small screw holes). Pop that out, and plug this in. It’s snug enough that I can’t imagine it falling out by accident, but you can use the two small included screws to make it even more secure. Prior to buying this, I had one of the Ring solar panels, but it could only keep up with keeping the battery charged if I minimized alert frequency, disabled the motion detection lights, disabled Live View (which when enabled, allows you to remotely connect to the camera anytime you wish and take a look at what the camera is seeing). This cord allowed me to reenable all the features, and the battery sits at 100% all the time, which is great! Note that the camera requires the battery whether or not you are using the cord. The cord simply charges the battery. The camera operates off the battery power, not directly from the cord.

Since installing it, the battery has remained at 100% on the camera which is proof of function. The length of cable was more than plenty to meet my needs as well. Good solution!

Works as advertised

This is my first winter with the camera, I discovered the cold kills the batteries obscenely fast so sought another option. This sounded perfect, but it is all set up and isn't charging anything. Also the cable etc doesn't seem outdoor quality.
