Lot more power than rated. Best value for the power and quality.
Using the PDR-M65 on 2 JL 10W1s and with the gain and boost on amp turned only 1/4 up and all bass options turned all the way down on head unit, this thing pounds. It is a little overpowered for the W1s but its clean power and with the subsonic filter I can easily make it work till I upgrade to JL W3s or W6s. Also have a JL JX 1000/1 amp and this pushes almost as much power without putting such a hard draw on the alternator. Will be getting the 4 channel Alpine for the Mids and Highs to match.

insane power, never hot just a little warm
This little amp is absolutely incredible. I didn’t know this upon purchase but alpine amps are heavily underrated. They ship with a verification slip from their amp dyno. My unit pumps out 789 watts rms! I’m running into two PB S1204’s and the spl it makes is insane. Also incredible heat management. I’ve ran it full blast +12 dB bass and half gain for over 1.5 hours without it hitting protection mode or even cutting power. Not to mention exceptional sound quality. This amp plays lows so much better than any other I’ve used. The only thing I’m not a huge fan of is the controls being under the cover, which isn’t a problem unless you lose the little Allen key that secures it. Will be buying Alpine amps exclusively now. Stop reading this and buy it.

Refurbished
In all fairness this was a used *refurbished amp. It did not work and produced bass that was of the poorest quality. I sent it back and was refunded immediately.

Great Amp.
Really like this amp. I don't love the angled wire inputs, but it's not a huge deal. My birth sheet reads 842 watts. Impressive. It hits harder than the amp it replaced. Pushing 2 Rockford 12's, P2D2, 250w RMS 500w Max. I think they could include the remote bass control for the price, but otherwise it's a really nice amp.

Would have been great value if it would have been NEW and not Refurbished!
I purchased this amp based upon the quality of many Alpine products that I have owned over the years and been very happy with all of them thus far. This amp would have carried that same standard in my opinion however there were some concerns right out of the box. I was pretty taken back when looking through the documentation at what I believed to be a new amp, however the birth sheet stated the amplifier was actually a 2015 model that had been refurbished. I feel as though the seller should have stated that on the sales page. Trying to give the amp the benefit of the doubt, I installed it in my vehicle to power one JL Audio 12W6V3. It did this quiet well for roughly one week with minimal usage, then the amp went in protection mode and never returned. I checked the connections with a multimeter and they were spot on, therefore adequate power was given and I have an excellent ground . This signals there is a problem with this amp. After doing some research, this model was under a nationwide recall that could have resulted in some fairly serious consequences. I have no doubt Alpine did repair the amp and I would have been ok with it, however a few days at best of being in service doesn't qualify. I am returning the amp and debating on wither to try another or go with a different model altogether. The power specs align perfectly with the range in place for my single sub. Installation was very easy as well tuning the amp. I like the sliding cover hiding the controls. If I decide to get another and it performs as advertised, I will be more than happy to revise my review to reflect upon it.

Shop around for awhile first. I didnt...
Dislike the price after I bought then really did some research and found brand new for about half the price as this "nice" used.

Great amp.
Easy to wire, easy to setup, though wish the trimpots weren't behind a metal plate that gets screwed into place with tiny allen screws, which makes changes a bit tedious. Leave the cover off for a few days or a week while you fine tune your settings and get things how you want them, THEN install it on the unit. Drives a 12" S-type Alpine sub just fine, easily has the power to handle whatever I throw at it.
