Needed a sharpening stone for my disaster preparedness kit. Wanted a traditional hone. This fits the bill since it comes with a quality case which allows it to be held and used while keeping fingertips safe. The stone itself is a medium grit and suitable for most sharpening tasks. Do not expect a scalpel edge. I would also suggest lubricating the stone with honing oil or other light oil to extend the life of the stone. Good value for the money.

This stone's plastic housing fits together providing an excellent grip with fingers below the honing surface.

I think it's the perfect size for on the go sharpening. The case helps keep the blade away from ur fingers.

My son bought one of these stones for himself to use as I'm teaching him to sharpen knives. I liked it so much I ordered one for myself. It's a great stone for touching up an edge in the field and as a part of my everyday sharpening system. I love that it's made is the USA.
