It makes sense to review this product after an year or so of use. This IS Vitex Agnus-Castus (Chinese). This IS NOT the other variety of it, Vitex Negundo Linn (Indian). A little backstory: (From experience) Hormone problems are difficult to treat with regular, conventional medicine. Avoid seeing a doctor for this. They prescribe clomid or other birth control (contraceptives which would be suitable for married women) but, sometimes, they fire back. They mess up your hormones and don’t do you any good whatsoever (especially in PCOS). Having said that, these contraceptives are to stop your menstrual cycles first and then to regularize them. The only thing you need to do is: • Fix your diet • Move around - exercise a little • Have herbal teas • Reduce intake of starches, junk and sugars (have them just once a week) • Avoid oily foods (and if you do have them have lots of water AT LEAST 8 glasses a day or more) • For weightloss, have anything high in fiber (wheat, barley, buckwheat, jowar, oats). Have this whenever you have junk food or too much food. This helps to curb cravings and also helps with weight loss and it helps with insulin resistance. • Spearmint tea is another excellent way to lower testosterone levels. It has anti-androgenic properties. • Try to eat 5-6 small meals a day instead of 2-3 big ones Short and to-the-point review: • These are pills of 40 mg, so do not expect quick results. Bought this vitex a little over 2 months ago now and feel I can effectively write my review after taking it for a while. This stuff is amazing!! I highly recommend it to anyone that has irregular cycles or hormonal imbalances. I have PCOS and have been trying to conceive for 5 months, trying all sorts of other herbal supplements like maca, ashwagandha, ovasitol, and many types of tinctures with no luck. My cycles were hovering around 40 days and decided to try vitex just to shorten my cycles before going and getting on fertility medication. I believe the company states it takes up to 6 months to be fully effective but the first month of taking it my cycle shortened to 29 days! That in and of itself is a huge victory, going from 40 to 29 days. Very next cycle we were not really trying to get pregnant because it would make the due date right when we are planning to move. We go in later that month to the fertility doctor where she did an ultrasound to check my uterine lining, which she stated looked awesome despite still breastfeeding my 13 month old. The doctor said she could tell that I ovulated from my left and asked if we could possibly be pregnant because she said it looked like we had an early pregnancy. Sure enough, we tested a week later and got a positive! I told my husband I would be impressed and content if this vitex shortened my cycle to 35 days so shortening it to 29 days then the following month getting a positive pregnancy test is beyond my expectations! I was worried about taking vitex b/c it is known to increase your luteinizing hormone (LH) which is already elevated for women with PCOS and vitex decreases your prolactin levels, which I need elevated in order to breastfeed so I went with the lower dose of 40 mg 1xday rather than the standard 400 mg 3xday that most women take and it did not hurt my breast milk supply and caused my LH to balance out so it could surge in order to ovulate. I STRONGLY recommend this product above all other supplements I have been taking! I also like that it came in a glass bottle, which usually shows quality of product.

Nature’s Answer Vitex was recommended to me by a friend that shared the same hormonal imbalance that we had as a teens and now. Personally, I find this is a great alternative to birth control for those looking for another option.

I'm friends with an Ayurvedic doctor who suggested this supplement. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and I had been having hormonal imbalances and she really felt like this would help. What is so amazing about chasteberry is that it balances out your hormones no matter where they're at. If you are low it will bring you up. If your levels are high it will bring you down to a safe level. This worked for me.
