It looks like the thumbs and possibly the finger assembly are articulated. Could anyone clarify this?

Sorry Bruv, only the wrists articulate up or down for a grasp or grab look. Still a great figure, it’s large and the wings have hinges as well as a pivotable ball socket to allow for a wide range of motion.

Is thus shipped in a box?

My company does ship these in boxes with bubble/paper, all collectibles should be to keep them safe. I cant speak for others however.
