My 2000 Toyota Camry LE's OEM Hood heat shield insulation/deadener started deteriorating and pieces of it being peeled off so i decided for a DIY replacement project and bought this Abahub 236mil 4x6 (16sqft - measured first the size of my OEM Hood heat shield as there comes options in sizes). The package came at a very good condition nicely packed inside a plastic and rolled. I inspected the product as there were some reviews about damage/ripped aluminum foil and I am glad mine came in without a damage. Carefully unroll the sheet on a flat surface ( i used my garage floor) and gently flatten the surface (aluminum side facing the ground to prevent damage) and once evenly flat, flip the sheet aluminum now facing up and let it rest and prep for cutting to size matching the OEM from the car. I used sharpie pen to mark the holes and exact size to cut and I just used a medium size office scissor (very easy cut) don't use box cutter it would create a tear to the insulation padding and rip off the aluminum if dragged. There were 11 spots i marked for the location of the round push in clips (when i removed the 11 clips all of them broke and no longer usable but i always keep many clip parts for my vehicles). I was only able to get 4 out of 11 push clips to match the holes when i applied the insulation to the hood (not to worry, the backing adhesive will do the job to hold it together. OEM does not have backing adhesive, it was hold in place by the 11 push clips to the hood) I started from the top which matches the exact location of the top 3 holes allowing me to work without an extra pair of hands. I didn't push the new round clips just halfway and enough to hold the insulation sheet allowing me to access and gently peel off the backing adhesive cover to expose the adhesive part of the sheet. Worked my way from top slowly applying pressure to stick to the hood back surface and making sure the insulation sticks to the surface making sure there is no gap/air. Tip: if during the install, you accidentally damage or rip off a part of the aluminum heat shield, you can simply patch it with an industrial grade aluminum tape (commonly used in HVAC install/repairs). Ultimately, this product can be to cut to size, easy to install with enough thickness and insulation for heat and reducing engine sound/noise when driving the vehicle. I highly recommend, this product won't disappoint you.

I pulled the interior of my Miata last winter & used this sound deadner throughout before the carpets were re-installed. You might think putting this stuff in a convertible is a waste of time but it's actually surprising how much road noise is diminished up to about 80km/h. There's also the heat shield aspect which is important for the tunnel area of a Miata where the transmission sits. It gets pretty warm so this heat shield also does a good job of helping with cooler temperatures in the cockpit. Good purchase, good price.
