Saw some good reviews on the internet about this camera so decided to get one. It's a nicely built camera and comes with all the accessories you need mounts etc and even a lav microphone is included in the box. The only let down was unlike the Akaso cameras you only get one battery included in the box with the camera, so after a bit of searching on the internet i did manage to find some spare batteries. The touch screen on the camera is fairly resposive for the price point, recordings are pretty good, i prefer the 1080P setting as this has image stabilisation which makes a big difference, sadly 4k 30 has no stabilisation so you really need a gimble, all in all a good action camera with good image quality and sound.

My first action cam. Native unstabilised 4K, stabilised option at 1080/60. I chose the 90deg lens model as I don't like wide angle lens distortion. My first action cam so can't really compare however I have concluded one thing. The "waterproof without case" concept of GoPro is the way to go. External cases are cumbersome. Finally my cam got stuck in long exposure mode causing overexposed stills. I looked through the options, I read the manual but couldn't see how to deselect long exposure mode. I emailed customer service but did not get a reply. That loses a star. I'm returning it because of the poor customer service.

This review is for the Hawkeye Firefly 8SE with the No Distortion Lens. An initial review after using this camera for a month or so. Got this for the lens... I can't stand all these cheap wide-angle lens that fisheye the images found on most action cameras and I can confirm, the images are great. I use it as a 4k car dashcam. It has a dashcam mode. Plugged into the 12v power via a usb lead it switches on and records as soon as the ignition is on. I watch the videos and take stills using VLC freeware.... perfect. The stills are 3840x2160 and are pretty decent.

A brilliant alternative to other top end makes, particularly for everyday filming. Packaging is smart and delivery was on time. Quality of both video and pictures is excellent and whilst there is no video stabilisation when shooting in 4k, I bought a gimble to overcome this problem and still spent less than I would have for the leading brand models.
