READ BEFORE YOU BUY!

First one: it turned on and worked , plugged in solar charger , dead. No charge. Contacted Amazon and they replaced it.Round 2 : arrives. Turns on. Put the 18650 battery that’s included into my charger to check charge level. 3/4 way charger. Plugged in solar panel - nothing. 2 units , neither solar chargers work.First light - after charging the first light with a usb charger , went to turn on and wouldn’t light up. After messing with it , I pulled the included battery out , stuck it on my 18650 battery charger , wouldn’t charge. Conclusion , included battery is junk. Changed out to another battery , light works. Charging the second light now with usb charger to see if battery will charge.Thoughts : I can’t Confirm yet, but I suspect the light doesn’t stop charging once battery is full , so this burns the battery out. Will update review once I’ve had time to confirm.Light : the light isn’t super bright but would be great in my tent or hammock. The light itself when new battery was put in works. If you’re planning to buy , my advise is if your looking for a solar light , you might try a diff light. If you just want a rechargeable portable light , then this might be ok , but use an external charger. The plus with this light and the reason I ordered it was due to the fact it uses the standard 18650 batteries. I have several , so charging at home on an external charger for camping isn’t a big issue , but it does kind of defeat the solar charging light. The light itself is ok.After updating the battery to a 3000 mAh 35A 3.7v ,18650 battery , I ran the light on high for 4 hrs. Pulled the battery out and checked it’s power level and the battery was at 82% charged , so one full charge should have NO issue proving power for this light for serval nites before needing a charge. Conclusion: I have another one that’s a diff brand that I paid the same price for that works like it’s supposed to. Again , if solar is the reason you’re buying this. I wouldn’t advise. If you’re looking for a good light , that you can use rechargeable 18650 batteries in , this isn’t a bad option.

you can charge with a 5V charger

I was going to try the tiny solar panel that comes with it to charge as that is the idea of the thing. But, because of the clouds, I decided to try a cord, with the right connection, like a cell phone charger, or smaller, and linked that to a usb wall charger, and it charged in no time. It has a pale red light when charging, then it turns to blue. My guess that means charged, as there is no information on this. Then it is a high beam first, a second lower beam, and a strobe at the end. I can't imagine what you would want a strobe for unless you plan to party in a tent! One little button. I really like it. well worth the inexpensive cost. Might just use it to read in bed at night. Nice soft light, not to bright, not to weak.

Compact with enough light, great for camping.

Decently bright. The solar panel is small enough that can be placed anywhere and charges rather quickly even in a cloudy day. It’s perfect for outdoors such as camping or inside of a tent. Would have wished for it to be a bit warmer as the white light gets too be too much on the eyes. The low mode is too low to use other than a night light. Also no battery indicator to show if the battery is fully charged and how much is there.

Better to Buy a Flashlight or a Lantern

This works like a flashlight or a battery-operated lantern, in fact, I would be better of using a flashlight or a lantern, which emit more brighter light. I thought I could use this as a dusk-to-dawn light outside my shed, but I misunderstood the descriptions. My mistake! It comes with a small (about 2" x 4-1/2") solar charger for the battery, a switch on the side to turn on, dim or blink the light.......much like some of those flashlights or lanterns on TV or in the stores.

Cord is at least 6 feet long

My garage has no electricity. I put the little solar panel on the roof and hung the bulb from a string in the garage. The bulb is not super bright, but it lights up a one car garage space. It has 3 settings, high, low, and blink. You can charge the bulb with the panel or into a USB charger. I am sure you have lots of those.

Works well for tent

Solar panel is super small. The light is very lightweight, easy to hang. Has 3 settings and worked well in my tent at night. We used it to get ready for bed, so 20-30 minutes each night for 13 days.. we charged it once

Great design, good light output.

I use this little light in my duck and chicken coop, so I can see what I'm doing after dark. Solar panel is strong enough to power the bulb even through cloudy days. The sticky back didn't hold up through the rain, but that's no big deal.

great little light

i use this out at chicken coop so i can see to lock the chickens up at night and put their feed away and it really does put out a lot of light, perfect for my needs.
