Dead pixels, and won't be resolved by BenQ

Its a risk to buy this monitor (or any other BenQ monitor), as the money you spend can go as vapor. The monitor I purchased started showing dead pixels, and the service dept claims that they are dust particles! . And this happened within the warranty period. I've decided that I would never buy a benq product again.

Great Amazon services...

The first one I received had 9-10 dead pixels. I initiated a replacement unit. The replacement unit arrived in around a week. It had a slight lighting issue (an area was a bit darker than rest) at the bottom center, but it was hardly perceivable and is easily not a big problem. Also there were two or three half dead pixels (like only the green not lighting up), which is not an issue too as I was unable to perceive them from a feet away. The best part is that both the monitors had no flickering issue which customers got when the monitor was initially released. If you have the money, go for it. My productivity increased a lot, no matter what I did with it (I do mostly programming). And IMO, 1440p spread across 32 inches is way better than 1440p on 27 inches. I personally found UI elements too small on 27 inch 1440p monitors, and increasing font sizes and UI scaling, the experience just doesn't cut it. It's not the same as vanilla unscaled resolutions.

IMPRESIONANTE

Great monitor

I first ordered this monitor a few weeks back when it was still on sale for 700 and I must say it was a good decision. Black levels are impressive, backlight bleed is minimal, and the screen real estate is incredible. In fact, it may even be too much at first. I upgraded from a 24inch monitor and thought that 8in difference wouldn't be different, but when my monitor came in... Suffice to say, it is like a small tv and can be daunting to use at first but I got used to it pretty fast.It helps that the stand this monitor comes with, as the mf's description says, with a stand that is designed to be minimally intrusive. It doesn't let the monitor stick out too much on my smallish desk, so it's a big plus compared to my previous Dell. The customizable controller... At first I thought it would be a gimmick, but was actually quite useful. It's big enough that you can use it by tactile feedback alone, and you can program it to switch between desired viewing modes or do any other function you want. It even makes using OSD menu a lot more convenient. The only real downside to this monitor is that is quite heavy (stand accounts for a lot of this because it's unexpectedly solid and massive). Be prepared to assemble the whole thing on something soft like a mattress to avoid scratching the monitor while you fumble with heavy pieces. The other significant difference that I noticed between this and my dell 2412m was that the image is slightly different. I had my previous monitor set to blueish/metalic color temp, and most of the tones on it did look colder, just as I prefer them. On this screen, however, greytones are more brownish (*is that even a proper word?). Colors, on the other hand, are more vibrant and otherwise a lot more pleasing to look at. So if you use a lot of grayscale material it may take some getting used to. However, on the upside this BenQ has minimal eyestrain even without activating the low-blue light feature.

Great monitor for all uses

It's a monitor. It's big and beautiful. What more can I say, best money I have ever spent on a monitor. I do some gaming with it, and the games play great with no ghosting that I have noticed. My eyes aren't what they used to be so I appreciate the lower dot pitch, still plenty of real-estate but bigger text. Because of Windows not having that good of screen scaling, I just couldn't go UHD on the monitor. This Quad HD monitor fit the bill. I like a big screen versus dual screen and just couldn't afford the curved 34" monitors. I really can't say enough good comments about the BenQ product, I am very pleased in quality, et. al.

better than the 40" TV with only 1920x1080

Wow what a monitor! No regrets with this purchase at all! I had a 40" Sony TV 1920x1080 using it as a monitor and this replaced the TV. Trying to sit 2-3 ft from a TV that large made reading rough, I used my 24" monitor for reading. For gaming the TV was ok since I didnt have to sit as close, better than the 24" monitor with the same resolution, but 32" with this higher resolution looks amazing! I can game on this monitor and reading is very nice as well.

The Best 1440p Monitor Value at $350-360

I am reviewing this on the basis that I bought it for $350. Even right now as of today at $360, it is totally worth it. Unless you are gaming at 4K, or really need all those pixels, this monitor performs pretty much as well as a decent 32-inch 4K monitor, but at more than half less of their prices. I have had two of the 31-inch LG 4K 31MU97, one of each version -  LG Electronics IPS Digital Cinema 4K Monitor 31MU97-B 31.0-Inch Screen LED-Lit Monitor  and  LG Electronics 31MU97C-B 31-Inch Screen LED-lit Monitor , and although the BenQ doesn't match its image quality, it comes close, and costs only 40%. I can buy two of the BenQ and still save some money yet would enjoy it more. A decent 1080p 32-inch monitor would cost about $300, like this Samsung -  Samsung CF391 Series Curved 32-Inch FHD Monitor (C32F391) , so for just $50 more for this BenQ, you can enjoy something much better and is more versatile. If you want a 1440p gaming experience, this would almost be perfect(match it with an Nvidia GTX 1070!). Otherwise, I guess if you really want to splurge on a 4K system you can always go with the latest and greatest 32-inch 4K monitor with HDR like this LG -  LG Electronics 4K UHD 31.5" Screen LED-Lit Monitor (32UD99-W) .There are two 5-watt speakers, but they are very underwhelming, and should only be used as a last resort if all your speakers and headphones break. Even at 100% they are barely passable, just loud enough for you to hear your notifications, but not good enough for movies or videos. The design, material, aesthetics, and the stand are all lovely. This is a high-quality monitor and it shows. There are all the inputs you would ever want and need, except for USB Type C. All the ports come with included cables as well(HDMI, DisplayPort, Analog, USB 3 Type A, RCA audio) - big brownie points for BenQ's attention to detail. There are many picture settings, the buttons on the monitor are touch-buttons, except for the regular on/off button, and the knob controller makes selecting quick settings a breeze. The only thing missing is dedicated buttons for volume, which is a huge oversight.I got this just today so I will update more as I use it more.
