17211, Soil Knife with Holster, Red

I have the full sized shovel that is like a spade and love it. So when I saw this hand trowel I knew I had to get it. The root slayer big or small is the best tools ever. I love how it is well balanced, sharp and cuts the roots of plants(weeds) easily. Less stress on your arms and cuts work time. Productive!

I wish I had taken some pictures of this thing in action. I use it for metal detecting and it's awesome! When it says root slayer, they ain't lyin. It took a few tries to get the motion right but I hacked through a root at least as thick as my wrist in a few minutes. Smaller roots snap easily. It's curved to help dig and is surprisingly strong for prying. The sheath has no way to let dirt escape is my only complaint. But it's heavy duty fire hose like material. Definitely a keeper

Have had on of these for many years and it has held up to a lot. This one is going to be a gift for a rock hound. Should help getting those hidden gems free.

Well, the blade got scratches on it right out of the gate (pictures attached). IDK how that might affect its longevity, but in terms of how it works right now it's a dream! I cut through some thick-stalked, 12 and 18-inch weeds like they were dandelions. I also cut through some deeply buried landscaping fabric, which in the past would have caused a lot of trouble. With this, it was a manageable amount of trouble - big improvement! I hope the scratches don't cause the knife to rust because I really like the tool.

I love this thing. I use it for weeding primarily and it's super functional for that. and I discovered it's great for transplanting/moving. I can just pop bulbs up. i even discovered it works well to pop up nutsedge and other clumping weeds. and since I can get super close it doesn't disturb the soil as much. this is my new current favorite tool. (note - the holster seems pointless to me but I don't wear holsters so I don't care)

The Radius Root Slayer is the perfect soil knife!!! They took the best parts of a trowel, a Hori Hori and a traditional soil knife and blended them together. The Root knife is aggressive enough to cut thick roots, the soil knife is sharp enough to go through clay and topsoil but not to sharp so your not cutting yourself. A perfect blend for a perfect tool!

Needed a strong tool for digging out sprinkler heads that were covered with grass and this works beautifully!

Wow! Like my Root Slayer shovel, this is a heavy duty product. Tired of cheap trowels that are hard to dig with, bend or break ? Get this one. I have ZERO invested interest here. It’s just one of the best things I decided to buy. I have hard soils and the weeds or unwanted grass I want to remove have big roots. This does the job !!
