already read "word power made easy"? love it? if YESSS!! go for this book next also if you haven't read word power made east that's okay too... the best thing I love about this book is that it gives a set of words for each individual day so I take this book like a 30-DAY challenge for me and trust me that challenge was worth it. this book contains some most important English words explained in a way that you will remember it forever, I was preparing for GRE and this book helped me a lot. So, if you want to increase vocal knowledge go for it.

This is one of the greatest arsenal you can possess if you want to build a superior vocabulary in minimum time horizon. It follows the same concept as followed by Norman Lewis' Word power made easy : Etymology. You'll understand the origin and roots of words which will help you master the vocabulary in limited time. The cover said 30 days, but I found the book so interesting that I completed it within a week. I would recommend this for GRE and CAT aspirants. But beware, it won't act as a substitute for Word Power made easy.

Norman Lewis is known for Etymology He has written Word Power made easy while going to the roots of words which is a beautiful way to know about words This book focuses more of getting to know words by inkling which is fine. Personally I am not a fan of this particular technique. Learning by Roots is the best method to veritably remember a word

An absolutely amazing book. Perfect for GRE/GMAT or IELTS/TOEFL preparation. You not only learn new words but learn how to learn and retain those in your memory. It also has a bunch of quizzes in between which are very helpful to know where we stand. Overall, very well written and anyone appearing one of the above-mentioned exams or simply wants to improvise their vocabulary, well this book is for you.

A must for those who want to make their vocabulary strong enough.After reading this whole book i came to know that the scintillating performance of the author in this book is no doubt great.Need to eulogize this man for the way this book has been prepared.I strongly recommend this book for those who are preparing for competitive exams like cat,xat,law,gmat,gre etc.One of the finest thing of this book is that the roots of the words are explained in such a manner that you will never forget words.I read this book in 25 days and after reading it thoroughly i noticed that i hardly forget any word only because of its explicit way of explaining.

Very focused learning .

Excellent book to improve your vocabulary and to improve your reading comprehension. I read this in the 80's. After seeing it on Amazon, I bought it for a friend to read. It was written in 1942, so it is a reflection of the time. Ignore the sexism and appreciate how far we have come as humans.
