I got my crochets installed by @braidedbyava (Chicago stylist). I was going on vacay and wanted something other than box braids. She installed 4 packs for this look. I swam in the pool and beach every day for two weeks like it was my hair. Note: I didn't go under the water but got the bottom half wet often. Also would float on my back so my entire head has gotten wet. The hair would get tangled here and there but I was consistent with my maintenance routine. I’m going on week 3 and it still looks good. Tips: - made sure to wash the pool/beach water out (just using water) so it wouldn’t sit in the hair. I did shampoo and condition my scalp once to get the pool/beach water out. Just the scalp! - keep scissors on my deck to trim the ends when they got rough - 6 big twist at night + bonnet to sleep on it - detangle by separating each curl; use a curl milk, cream or whatever to rejuvenate hair - some days it might FEEL like it looks rough/crazy (I means it’s synthetic hair not human hair lol) but the compliments will still pour in

My hair stylist said that she loves this hair. I have been wearing crochet styles for awhile and I can say this looks close to my natural hair when I wear it curly. I can't wait to see what my next style will look like with this hair.

This hair is great. I only bought it from Amazon because I needed it quicker than buying from another online beauty retailer. I always cut it because I am tiny and it is SO much hair. These for packs are enough to do a 22 in head with some hair left over. This hair lasts a long time. I generally keep mine in for a month and it doesn't get frizzy or tangled. Watch Lia Lavon on YouTube for details about how to care for the hair. Only buy from Amazon if you need it within a few days. It's cheaper elsewhere.

I usually keep in crochets for about 2-3 months, and all is good. Lately however I noticed my hair reacting to crochet braids. My hair has become a lot softer since I actually researched it during lockdown, and I’ve been using a lot of products to help my hair retain moisture and definition. Looks like Kanekalon crochet braids have now become a no go area for me. My hair breaks midway, and by the time I take out my braids it’s cut in 1/2 in so many places from the Kanekalon cutting into the hair strands. And no, I’m not talking about shedding. It’s actual breakage. I don’t know if the formula has changed. I’ve never reacted this way to Kanekalon . With regards to the hair itself, I noticed way more tangling than usual. I’m sticking to wigs from here on out.
