DISCREET LOOK- SECRET WEAPON
This is the coolest undercover weapon I've ever owned. I do recommend getting the extra pack with the inert formula that way you have two doses of heat, the one that comes in the barrel and a replacement. DEFINITELY TEST RIGHT AWAY. I hope I never have to use this but I wanted to say something in response to the complaints that the Palm Defender isn't high power enough: If you are using mace that means you lost your chance to run away and avoid close range conflict. MACE IS A CLOSE RANGE DEFENSE WEAPON! Ignore the reviews about it not projecting far enough (the reviews that cite issues with the depressor probably just got the one bad one in the batch, doesn't happen that often and if you test before you rely on it, you would know if it needed replacing.) I absolutely love the natural grip, the rotating keyring turns it into a secondary weapon which if you have taken any self defense classes, you know the follow up action is just as important as the first strike. AND the safety isn't bulky and it WORKS! I feel safer, more badass, and totally nondescript with this on my keychain.

Works great and very potent!
Supposedly there are three sprays in one of these little guys, so I tested one spray in the garbage can to make sure it functions mechanically and that the pepper spray itself does the job. Well it definitely works! Since it's a close range cone dispersal type spray rather than long range stream, there were particles released into the air, and I felt some of the heat. My eyes were protected by my glasses, but it did make me cough here and there for a few minutes. I'd say this is a last line of defense option. If you spray your attacker with this at close range, you will definitely take in some of it, too. Hopefully you only get some slight irritation while your attacker is severely crippled from the spray. I love that I can use the device as a blunt weapon, and that it's not nearly as bulky as typical key chain pepper sprays. I will keep a regular mini pepper spray in my purse along with this one on my keys. I'd much rather spray an attacker from 10 feet away, but if for some reason, I end up hands on with someone, this will take them down easily.

About as good as it gets.
Very well made and high quality aluminum instead of plastic. Looks like a mini-flashlight so it is also very discrete. I have not used or tested it so I cannot comment on its effectiveness or range, but judging by videos on YouTube it should perform well. I like that it delivers a high velocity mist instead of a concentrated stream which should increase odds of hitting what you want. Amount of sprays is somewhat limited but that’s the trade off for a small package. I’ve had it on my keychain for about a year and it’s gotten beat up and thrown around but looks like it will last forever. It is designed with threaded end caps with o-rings that hold in the replaceable pepper cartridge so this isn’t a “one time use” device. Just replace the cartridge and you’re good to go. Overall I give it 5 stars based on quality, reusability, and discreetness. ASP makes professional level equipment for law enforcement and this little guy is no different.

Very powerful tool
I keep it in my pocket at all times. Unlike a handgun, this is lightweight and comfortable to carry, which for me is a big deal. Also you can carry it into many places where guns are not allowed. Unlike a gun, with this if you miscalculate and use excessive force you will probably not be facing a long prison sentence. Seems to be more durable and better designed than the standard pepper spray. I chose the silver color because I thought the paint would scratch over time so I wanted the color to blend with the metal. It does sometimes tend to slip easily out of the pocket. People sometimes are not sure what it is so that provides some privacy. As a force equalizer I think it probably is a very powerful tool. Even a big muscular person it seems can be stopped to some degree with this, as well as I assume various animals. Against a firearm this might give some decent chance of defence. If sprayed in a closed room, even if not directly on an individual, it will soon make the room uncomfortable to stay in. Overall, this is one of the best and most convenient self defense tools I know.

Pricey but great form factor and relatively stylish. Small capacity and range.
I bought this to supplement my CCW. I was immediately attracted by its form factor and apparent sturdy aluminum construction. It's much smaller and slimmer than any other common OC spray I've seen besides a few in other kkeychain form factors. It is essentially an aluminum tube and so it can be used as a striking weapon though this particular version, the Palm is small in my hand. The end could be used if needed. I have tested it with the included heat canister and was happy with the result. I knew I was trading capacity and reach for the form factor and I consider it worth it. It sprayed in a nice cone/jet about 3-4 feet for 3; 1/2 to 1 second sprays. I sprayed it outside and felt some small effect just from proximity. Mild irritation and sneezing. My only concern with it is the plastic safety. I do like the positive safety mechanism. I prefer it's design to others I've had that could go off in a pocket or purse fairly easily. But it might become weak and break off. I'm not sure if ASP would cover that. It is also a little pricey. This includes the aluminum body itself, 1 canister of heat spray and 2 key rings. Each small refill is about the cost of most competitors products that offer much more volume and range , so that is a downside.

Discreet and easy to operate
I exercise in a public park and I have been threatened by two off-leash dogs within a month. Since, I bought this, I have not had to use it for protection, but I feel much more secure by having it in my pocket. It's easy to use with one hand and it does have a finger activated safety switch to prevent accidental discharge. It's a solid piece of aluminum, so it could have additional use as an impact tool similar to a Kubotan for people who have some training in self-defense techniques.
