I don't tie down the front and read of my kayak when I'm taking it to the river in my neighborhood. For that 40mph trip I'm fine with a pair of ratchet straps to keep everything secure. These have held up great! I use them to tie down the bow and stern of my kayak on the roof of my SUV. As long as you know what you're doing, these will work just as intended, no worries about slipping or snapping. The ratchet mechanism has not had any problems. The hooks are not overly large, but they are also not small and fragile; they are a nice in between that are able to squeeze through the holes where the carry handles are on my kayak.

Worked well keeping our canoe in place on the trailer. Operation is pretty intuitive, and the cord stayed tight the whole trip.

These work great! Know what you load is, but they work well for what they do. Easy to use and remove. I get compliments almost each time I use them around someone new. The metal internals really help with quality too.

Just what I expected and needed. Works great with our kayaks and paddleboards. I didn't need two sets, but will certainly find uses for the 2nd one.

Certainly would not feel safe with these plastic sided pulley systems holding a canoe on a roof rack! Dissapointed

I use these ratchet tie-downs to secure my travel scooter in the back of my compact SUV. They work great, and are so easy to use that even a first-time user can easily do it. I leave the ends hooked to the tie-down anchors, so I can just press the lever up on the ratchet with my thumb. With that pressed, I use my other hand to loosen or tighten the rope with a swift pull on one end of the rope, and my scooter is free or secure. Easy-peasy. To tie the scooter down, I just wrap the rope around the beast, pull the loose end of the rope to tighten it down, and that's it! When I want to take the scooter out, I reverse the process – use my thumb to press the lever up on the ratchet, loosen the rope with a quick pull with my other hand, and unwind the loosened rope from around the scooter. This is much easier than any other system I have tried.
