Sorel delivers a classic with their Cold Mountain boot. The rubber bottom offers easy cleaning as well as waterproof protection while Thinsulate insulation helps lock out the cold. Sorel's cold weather footwear is ideal for those participating in active winter sports like snowmobiling or sledding, or for activities where maximum protection is required -- like all-season hunting or fishing, or simply going to work.

Great Snow Boot at an Excellent Price
This boot is comfortable and keeps me warm and dry in the bad weather. It has a good tread on the sole to prevent slips and falls. I also like the style for a boot. Moreover, I got it for $10 less than the all-black version this boot. On top of that, I also qualified for the Amazon discount that was available by keying in the appropriate code at checkout. Bottom line is I got a good snow boot for a very good deal. I definitely recommend this snow boot.

Fit was too short for the size listed.
I'm a perfect 14 in shoes and even in an older pair of Sorel boots, but these are just too short, in a 14. My toes are hitting the front of the toe box and that makes it uncomfortable. A 15 might work, but I shouldn't have to go up a size, compared to previous purchases from Sorel. My other complaint is that that there is no loop, in the back, to help you pull these on. Instead, there is a leather tab. This is awkward to use, compared to the more standard finger loop on other boots. On the positive size, these boots were incredibly warm, for their size and are very light weight. These are also pleasantly wide, which would make them great to layer with heavier socks. My intention was to use them for winter commuting and snowshoeing. Both activities are better with a lighter boot and I feel this would have been a great option for both, had the fit been better.Ultimately, I returned these and bought boots from Eddie Bauer, which exactly met my needs and fit properly, in a size 14.

DON'T HESITATE TO BUY THESE!!
I think these boots are wonderful! lightweight but feels sturdy. I got these for my dad for Christmas and he loves them! says they feel warm and comfortable. He's either on his feet or driving all day and they get the job done. I would definitely recommend these! these boots are true to size. My dad wears a 9D and these fit perfectly! I know some reviews say that the boot eyelets are loose and have broken off when pulled on to tie laces (i was very worried about that) but no issues so far! great price as well! will definitely be ordering a second pair.

Good buy
This is a very good boot at a reasonable price. I find the boot very comfortable and very warm. The size is larger than what I expected but with two pair of socks they fit well.

Great Snow Boot
I really love these boots. I haven't had any problems with the eyelets as other reviews have mentioned. The boot is warm, water proof and comfortable. I use them when it snows here in jersey, which has been a lot this year. The sole is a little thinner than I expected, but causes no problems. The tread seemed odd at first, but does seem to work well with deep snow and icy conditions. Sorel seems like a solid brand.

Mostly good, eyelets are junk
They fit well, are warm (rated to -25F) and I feel secure when placing my feet while walking on slippery surfaces. The problem with them is that the eyelets broke while I was tying the boots within the first week. Because I like the rest of the boot, and I'm buying these because my old boots fell apart a few days before buying these, and the rest of the boot felt like it was of lesser quality I would not keep them, I'm just going to a shoe repair place once winter is done to replace the eyelets.A few more pennies spent on the eyelets would have made this a great boot.

Great Boots
I own some sorel slippers and love them so I tried the boots and love them too easy to walk in and keep your feet nice and warm and dry. I don't feel I have had them long enough yet to really break them in but they were comfortable from day one. Plus they seem really well made and should last for quite awhile. I would highly recommend them if you need to spend hours outside in the cold on your feet. Was worried about them fitting so went to store to try on then ordered from amazon for cheaper.

Very large ... very loose-fitting ... breaking ...
The speed-lacing (total misnomer) links are breaking and shredding the laces. So, they're going back.(Previously wrote:)Hard to know what size shoes and boots to order anymore ... some years ago, when running shoes and sneakers were first being made in China, I was advised by a specialty store rep to always get a full size larger than my actual size, for two reasons: when walking or exercising your toes splay out and need room; the Chinese don't use the same lasts as we do.A 13 from China fits like a 12, while a 13 from the U.K. fits like a 13 or 13 1/2, and then there's Euro-sizing ... So online ordering gets complicated.Since the purpose for buying these was to actually walk in wet or snowy weather with our dogs, I bought one size larger than my actual size. This usually works out just right with made in China footwear, especially sneakers or running shoes. In this case, ordering my exact size might have been better, but hard to know. The length feels right in the one size larger, but the width is enormous, feels more like a EE than a D, as they're marked. So my feet are swimming. If Amazon allowed exchanges, I'd do that. But they don't, only refunds, and now the price has gone up ($51 Gold Box, $85 regular) ... so I'm just going to wear very thick socks ...They're light-weight, fairly easy to slip on and off, but poorly sized - my feet are swimming in them.[P.S. Don't understand why there are two separate Amazon listings for "Sorel Men's Cold Mountain Boot." One of them has a contrasting colored tongue, otherwise looks identical ... yet ...]
