a lot easier to store and fit in various pouches than a hard bottle and its quite durable. even if it does break, Osprey has a seamless lifetime warranty process on all their products so youll get a replacement super fast. the bottle cap is easy to take off all the small bits which is good because you should be cleaning the inside of the mouth piece often to avoid bacteria build up ( which you could see clearly through the opaque parts). does not spill and only dispenses water when the tip is compressed so its great!
