Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman star in Wolfgang Petersen's thriller about the hijacking of Air ForceOne with the First Family on board. Review: VERY GOOD DVD - VERY GOOD Review: Air Force One: A High-Flying Presidential Action Thriller - "Air Force One" is a thrilling action movie starring Harrison Ford as the President of the United States. The film's premise is captivating: terrorists hijack Air Force One, the presidential plane, and it's up to President Marshall (Ford) to save the day. The suspense and tension are expertly built throughout the movie. The action sequences are well-executed, with intense moments on board the plane and in various global locations. Harrison Ford's performance as a tough and determined president is convincing and adds depth to the film. Gary Oldman, who plays the lead terrorist, is a formidable adversary and delivers a memorable performance. However, "Air Force One" isn't without its shortcomings. Some of the plot points are a bit far-fetched, especially when it comes to the president's physical abilities and the ease with which he outsmarts the terrorists. Additionally, certain characters lack depth and development, which leaves you wanting more from the supporting cast. In terms of entertainment, "Air Force One" delivers an exciting and action-packed experience. It's a movie that keeps you on the edge of your seat, even if it stretches the limits of realism at times. If you enjoy action films with a political twist, "Air Force One" is definitely worth a watch.

Suspenseful w/Lots of Action
I'm so old that it seems like a million years since I saw this the first time. One night, I got a hankering to see if it is still a good watch, and I like it just as much this time. It isn't dated at all (for me anyhow) and is just as suspenseful. If you are in the mood for your heart to stop off and on, this movie is good for that experience.

A Great Action Flick!
Wolfgang Peterson’s 1997 film, “Air Force One,” stars Harrison Ford as U.S. President James Marshall and Gary Oldman as Egor Korshunov alongside Glenn Close as U.S. VP Kathryn Bennett, Wendy Crewson as First Lady Grace Marshall, Paul Guilfoyle as White House Chief of Staff Lloyd Shepherd, William H. Macy as Major Norman Caldwell, and Dean Stockwell as Secretary of Defense Walter Dean. The plot begins with a joint U.S.-Russian op capturing General Ivan Radek (Jürgen Prochnow), a would-be dictator who wants to recreate the Soviet Union. At a party commemorating the successful mission and its promise of peace, President James Marshall announces a more aggressive foreign policy to combat dictators and terrorists. In response, Egor Korshunov, a Radek-loyalist, employs several other Radek followers masquerading as Russian journalists in order to hijack Air Force One and pressure the U.S. government to free Radek. The terrorists take control of the plane and it’s up to the President and secret service to re-capture it while the Vice President and Secretary of Defense decide how to proceed from D.C. The story is classic escapism and a great action flick. Ford is particularly great in his role, which follows in the tradition of his two outings as Jack Ryan. Oldman makes a fantastic villain, chewing the scenery. Elya Baskin joins him as Andrei Kolchak, with each actor bringing some fun moments and brilliantly playing off their coworkers. At times, the film is unrealistic in how it portrays the executive branch and how it would likely react in a conflict, while the inclusion of an escape pod on Air Force One (also seen in “Escape from New York,” “Bermuda Tentacles,” and “Big Game”) is entirely fictional, but none of this detracts from the audiences’ enjoyment. Hearing Harrison Ford growl, “Get off my plane,” is a moment that will make the film for the audience. All around, a fun action flick.

Harrison Ford for President!
This is a good film with Harrison Ford, with a great cast. The excitement begin from the start of the film to the end and Gary Goldman as the antigonist. I have the film on VHS, but haven't seen it in years. If you've never seen this film it's A must.
