Only 5 grams of carbs won me over!
This review and rating is for the sour cream and onion flavor Quest Protein Chips. Some of the other flavors I don't care for and would not give them 5 stars, but I realize it's all a personal preference anyway. I love sour cream and onion ANYTHING, so it's no surprise I really like these. I am a chip-aholic, but due to the carbs in chips, I really needed to cut back. I was also trying to increase my protein, so these chips really fit into my nutritional plan well. Only 5 carbs in the entire bag and 20grams of protein. I tried to eat them only 1-2 times per week as a treat, or when I really needed some crunch. They do NOT taste just like regular potato chips, so make sure your expectations are such. But really they are quite good. Before you order an entire 6-pack, I do suggest you try out a bag first, just in case they are not your thing. Most local health food stores (GNC, Vitamin Shop) sell them in single bags. Once you find the flavor you like, come to Amazon because they are generally cheaper on here to get a 6-pack. I have tried other brands of protein chips, and these Quest Sour Cream & Onion are truly the only kind I can stomach that have low carbs. I've found some other protein chips I can eat, but they typically have 14+ grams of carbs per bag, so the 5 grams in these bags are definitely more appealing.

Gross.
These are honest to god so gross. They have a consistency like styrofoam and the flavor is overwhelming with the aftertaste of vomit. They leave my mouth feeling like I stuck a blowdryer in there for 10 min and I need to chug a whole gallon of water to make it feel a little less cotton-mouthed. I bought a big box to keep in my car as I’m at school literally all day and the only time they taste even a little bit good is if I’m actually starving and have nothing else to eat. They DO however curb your appetite because they taste so horrible that they make you feel sick and not want to eat anything for the rest of the day. The flavor also makes your breath smell like ammonia. Don’t buy unless you want to suffer

Love these snacks!
I love these chips! I am on a high protein diet and struggle with good snack foods. These chips do not taste exactly like a potato chip. I wasn't expecting them to. If you try these knowing that they are going to have their own flavor, you will be pleasantly surprised at how good they are. The texture is light and crispy, and I find that they are very filling, so they curb my hunger. I love that they have 20 grams of Protein and virtually no carbs. Perfect for anyone trying to eat healthier. Now when my husband breaks out his chips I can munch on mine as well.

High protein, satisfying, but nasty taste.
I have mixed feelings about these chips. At first, the taste is okay, but as you chew a little more, they are just disgusting. They definitely satisfy a crunchy craving and are low carb for those doing a ketogenic or low carb diet. They have an amazing amount of protein for one bag, which is huge. I seem to be satisfied after eating them, although my taste buds are vomiting. I can't figure out if I'm not hungry because they are filling, or because I'm slightly nauseated and disgusted after eating a bag......either way, they are not the worst in the world, but certainly don't compare to a bag of Lay's.

Nice option for a protein crunchy snack
The Quest chips are a filling crunchy (very dry) protein snack, but they are still a highly processed food, even if they are baked. The flavors are somewhat enjoyable, but not delicious (personal opinion). If you look for extra protein, they're fine; but there are many more natural chip options at ~130 calories per snack bag of 28-32g if you just want a crunchy `healthy` savory snack. The combination of protein powder, corn starch and psyllium husks makes this chips very dry and I strongly recommend drinking lots of water when eating these. The chips are very thin, almost paper like thin. I can actually understand why the dryness of these chips reminds some people of cardboard, but I personally don't mind this texture. I do like the option of protein savory snacks since I don't have a sweet tooth and I dislike that almost all protein bars are sweet (some offerings being sickening sweet). Also, compared to the Quest protein bars, I like that they're not overloaded with fiber (which causes me sometimes bloating). I like that the chips are portioned, but they are not a snack that's good on the go. Depending on the bag, more or less chips get crumbled and you need to `scoop` the remains. When I ordered the 8-pack from Amazon, the chips were delivered in a big box, with a good fit (the bags don't move around too much, but aren't squished together). Still, some chips in the bags are broken or crumbled. I tried in time all the Quest chips flavors that were available.I do like that while being savory, the chips are not too salty. For me, the whey flavor is barely noticeable and the aftertaste is minimal. -> Sour Cream & Onion: I somewhat enjoyed this flavor (and I'm a sour cream & onion chips fan), but the sourness is more vinegary to me than sour cream or buttermilk like; the (green) onion flavor is perfectly balanced and there's some tiny green sprinkles that I assume are dried chives. Just don't expect them to taste like regular potato chips. -> Cheddar & Sour Cream: While the flavor is not `sharp Cheddar` like, it's quite cheesy and almost delicious, with just a tiny amount of sourness. It kind of smells cheesy, but in a good way for a cheese fan like me. -> BBQ: These basically taste like anything BBQ flavored, but more leaning towards the taste of spiced ketchup, but more sweet than spicy. This flavor also has a hint of vinegar taste, but I found the overall taste quite enjoyable.

Strange texture after chewing.
Tastes ok at first, then come this very strange textured fiber bolus that forms in your mouth. The only way to describe it is like ground up wood. It's supposed to add fiber to your diet and you definitely taste and feel the fiber as you swallow. Without a drink I'm left with a dry harshness in my throat along with a bloated feeling in my stomach. You can guess where the box ended up.

Chances are you won't like them. However
First, I want to say something important: if you are not a fan of low-carb food sources such as Atkins or Miracle Noodles -- don't try these. Chances are you won't like them. However, I am very used to low-carb products due to my diabetic parents. So for me, this was a great snack that provided crunch and flavor without all the extra fat and carbs. I'm currently on a Macros diet that calls for high protein, but lower carbs and fat. This snack does the trick of filling me up while also keeping my macros on track. When you first take a bite, the texture is more like a very, very light version of a pita chip. Towards the end, the flavor tends to get a bit bland, but nothing horrible by my standards. Overall, this is a pretty awesome product considering the nutrition facts.

Fantastic
These are incredible. They're crunchy, have good flavor and fill you up, for almost no carbs. The downside is that they're very expensive and you don't get much in the bag. They definitely don't taste like Ruffles or Doritos, but you're never going to get that taste without eating the real thing. The whole point of not eating potato chips is that you eventually stop craving them, so do you REALLY want to eat something that tastes exactly the same? I dip them in cauliflower rice with cheese or tuna; a good snack for people on Keto or low carb diets.

Definitely handle a taste craving I've had since being on KETO
Very small portion in the bag so it is NOT price comparative with carb filled snacks BUT it does satisfy the craving for old snacks I enjoyed before going KETO.
