The "5 gallon" pots are mislabeled. They actually hold barely 4 gallons. This is very disappointing.

Not sure on exact thickness, but I can say they are super durable! It reminds me of a high quality Tupperware container. I was so happy with my first order of them so I ordered many more. So far I have 35 of these planters, and will be buying more! I highly recommend them! A+

Well, I'll tell you. You are very observant. It's funny because I have made this purchase 6 times. I grow a lot of things. I don't like the short wide style with the large rim because here where I live, we have a lot of Brown Widow spiders that are taking over the Black Widows. The Brown Widow is more dangerous than the Black Widow and can actually kill a Cat. The spiders like to live under that large lip and if you aren't careful you can get bit when you pick up the pots. So, I am sure that when I ordered them, the ones I got are the taller with the thin lip. They are better and more safe when it comes to my situation. I don't remember there being two different pots shown when I made my purchase but you have a good question. They show two different kinds. When I purchased they were the taller thin lipped pots. I hope I didn't ramble too much and hope you get the type you want.
