An Excellent Power Converter for My German Beer Fridge!
I recently purchased the Rockstone Power 1000W power converter to use with my German beer fridge here in the US, and it has exceeded my expectations. The setup was straightforward, and the unit is robust and well-built. It effortlessly handles the power conversion, ensuring my fridge runs smoothly without any hiccups. The fan is quiet, and the converter stays cool even during extended use. It's clear that this product is designed with quality in mind. If you're looking for a reliable power converter, especially for high-power appliances, the Rockstone Power 1000W is an excellent choice. Highly recommended!

Good product, but ONLY transforms the voltage, NOT frequency (50/60Hz)
This is a really good product that worked well to transform my camera lighting equipment (from the USA) to the appropriate voltage when I was in the netherlands. The netherlands calls for 230V, so I set the pin on the back of the unit to 240V. Now, a SUPER important thing to note about this unit is that IT ONLY TRANSFORMS THE VOLTAGE. You must read the device you plan on plugging into the converter to make sure that it will transform to either 50 or 60 Hz. If the device says that it only works with 110V/60Hz (as is how it is in the USA), then you MUST buy an appropriate power strip that will also convert the Hz to the appropriate one for the country you visit, as well as handle the wattage that your appliance uses. Most appliances now-a-days (at least most that I've encountered) will have either a built in transformer and/or inverter that will convert to 110-240v + 50/60hz. You do not need this device if all of the devices you use have this written on the product (you can usually read/find this information close to or near where you plug in your device). If your device ONLY states that it takes 110V/60hz (or whatever country you purchased your device in and their power specifications), again you will need to purchase a power strip that will also convert the Hz to the appropriate Hz that you will be visiting. I learned this information the hard way when I had purchased this device and had plugged in a cheap north american power strip that only handled 110v/60hz, and blew a fuse and destroyed the power strip.

Love this product
Oh wow, i thought i have to throw away the stuff that i got from overseas, but this transformer helped to use those useless products in US. It has step up and step down features and very easy to use. You can also plug the usb and charge a phone. Sturdy design and have not seeing it give any problems. Been using it for more than 2 years.

OMG .... most stupid incorrect directions, EVER
I consider myself a fairly intelligent person. My intelligence is well above average. I follow directions well. No, I follow directions exceptionally well. These directions are not only the WORST directions ever written, they are completely wrong. Even though I knew nothing about transformers, while I was setting this thing up, it seemed counter-intuitive. I bought a yogurt maker back from Asia. I was so excited to have finally gotten my shipment of this item in the early afternoon, I ripped open the box and went to work straight-away. Ugh. The dumb directions were so confusingly written, it took me a frustrating few minutes to try to figure it out. I had a 220V item, I needed to convert to 110V. According to the paper, I was supposed to select the input at 220V and plug my appliance into the 110V. It didn't seem right to me, but I plugged it in and set the timer for 8 hours. 10:30 at night the beeper on the yogurt maker sounded. I had seen this appliance being used in Asia, and my stepmother who cannot cook, showed me I just pour in a little yogurt drink and fill it up with milk. I had bought greek yogurt, put in 2/3 of a cup of it and filled the rest with milk. I excitedly opened the jar, and found a lump of yogurt floating in milk. I was confused. Maybe it was because I didn't use a liquid yogurt? But it had the correct bacteria in it, what went wrong? No, it couldn't be the directions to the transformer! Why would they send out wrong directions? The typo should have cued me but instead I re-read the directions, and confirmed I did everything correctly. I Googled how to make yogurt with a yogurt maker. These crazy directions about heating up milk and cooling it came up. But wait, I SAW my stepmother pour liquids and it came out yogurt 8 hours later and there was no heating milk involved. I Googled Rockstone Transformer and descriptions of the item came up. I decided, maybe I didn't add enough starter yogurt, so I added more and started the cycle again. And perhaps this time I should try the output plug that says 220V, as we all know the definition of insanity is repeating oneself expecting a different outcome. I was convinced it was going to start a fire, and my husband asked me if I wanted to move it to the bedroom just in case it did. Yes, because I want us and my wardrobe to burn first!!! Thankfully my last Google search was " How to use a voltage converter transformer" and a Wiki article came up. Now THOSE are properly written directions. The input should have been selected to 110V, because duh we are in America and it's 110V. I Love Wiki; I slept like a baby. Woke up the next morning and voila, yogurt made and apartment not burned down. Long story short, on a low watt item, putting the input in at 220V and using the output 110V is not going to A. ruin the transformer or B. start a fire, but it will definitely not make yogurt. I would have given this 5 stars as it really is a great looking and functional item that's super reasonably priced, however for making me feel like an idiot and wasting 9 plus hours of my time, I'm going to have to deduct. Note to manufacturer, go Google wiki and write proper directions and fix the typo!!! I'm feeling a bit Kathleen Turner/Serial Mom-ish, but what can I say. I'm above average intelligent ;)

Worth more monies than what its currently is priced at.....
For an Indian who travels bag and baggage once every few years and has to deal with ACs and DCs and Voltage Up and Voltage Downs...this was a blessing in disguise. A lesson i have learnt all these years is nothing does it like the good ol mixer grinder from india and this is what you need to compliment that. It works perfect in the US and UK and i dont see a reason why it would work back in India either. A 1000 Watts Heavy Duty Step Up/Down it fits the bill bill perfectly as most of the grinders/appliances i have seen/used are between 500-800 watts. Its also got a USB out but i havent bothered using it.It comes with extra fuse and also Pins for converting from Flat to Round or vice-versa. 3 months and having used it almost everyday i think its one of the best investments i have made and for a price that doesnt do it justice! Absolute must have....

Danger! Potentially LETHAL internal wiring error, poor quality
I'd read in negative reviews by engineers/technical people of similar products that the wiring could be incorrect ... and this one has the same potentially lethal problem. The LIVE and NEUTRAL wires from the power cord are swapped ... the neutral goes through the circuit breaker and fuse, the live connects directly to the neutral pins on the 220V AND 110V outputs. If plugged in, but NOT TURNED ON, there is mains power present between neutral and earth on both sockets! The unit may even appear to work normally, depending on the load's earthing etc, but may result in (at best) RCD or load breakers tripping, or (at worst) a fatal electric shock. It's an easy fix by a competent person (note: the don't just fix swapped L/N mains wires, the wiring to the 220V plug is also swapped. Apart from that -- low quality components, and the transformer appears to be made of low quality iron. Rather spend decent money than these zero-QC, low-quality, unsafe Chinese POSes.

I also used it to run an air filter pretty regularly, as well as occasionally use to drive ...
Worked for 2+ years while I was living in Europe. I was careful to never load it over maybe 75%, but over the time I was there, it was my main source of power for my Xbox (after a failed attempt at buying a 240V power supply). I also used it to run an air filter pretty regularly, as well as occasionally use to drive a rice cooker, food processor, blender, and probably a few other small things. Really quality product in my opinion. If there is a cheap spot, the sockets are a bit loose after some use (but I just connected it to a power strip, so I didn't really use the sockets very often).
