I can’t say enough good things about the Glow EZ Lock 42" Collapsible Silver Beauty Dish! This beauty dish has completely transformed my photography. The quality of light it produces is nothing short of stunning—soft, flattering, and evenly distributed, with just the right amount of contrast. The collapsible design is an absolute lifesaver. It’s incredibly easy to set up and take down, and it’s compact enough to transport without any hassle. The EZ Lock mechanism is intuitive and sturdy, making it quick to assemble during shoots. Since incorporating this into my kit, my portraits, and product photos have reached a whole new level. The silver interior adds a gorgeous pop to the highlights while maintaining natural tones. The hallmark of a good beauty dish is its ability to provide light that's direct enough that you still get shadows and cheekbones and definition and contrast, but large enough that it offers some softness around those shadows. People will shoot with silver-lined or white-lined beauty dishes, with a diffuser in the front or just a bare reflector, and with or without a grid. The flexibility of a good beauty dish, and knowing how to configure and point your beauty dish is key for portraiture. At first glance, you might mistake this for an octabox based on its size, but it's got twice as many points, a more C-shaped housing, and a reflector dish right in front of the light mount, making it act more like a very big beauty dish. Put to the test, light output was very even across the surface, which is what I like to see. After the metal reflector dish, there's another layer of diffusion fabric held in place by snaps, and after that is the outer layer of diffusion fabric. Suffice to say, by the time your light escapes this light, it's gone through quite a few detours, resulting in light that doesn't look like it came out of a studio light. It's just beautiful, high-quality light. You get a lot for the price here. There's a carrying case that actually looks like it might hold up for a few years, the aforementioned diffusion fabrics, reflector dish, the unit itself, and an eggcrate grid for the front. Other manufacturers would charge you for each one of these features, but you get to start with everything right from the go, and that's nice. Setup is very fast. You can leave the inner, and even outer diffusion fabric in place while you unzip the side and press the unlock button. Just watch your hand, there's quite a bit of tension going on there. You can go from packed up to set up in 10-15 seconds, and vice versa in maybe a few seconds more, because you'll want to pack the fabric up safely. No screws, velcro, or putting rods in pockets. It's a really nice design, and it locks in place until you press that button and free the two halves. I'm thoroughly impressed with the design and quality of this light, and will be looking to buy more as opportunities present themselves.

This is my favorite travel modifier. Can't beat the quality, easy setup and folding, and effectiveness for the price! It's small, versatile, and durable (as far as it can be). Keep the diffuser off and use it as a beauty dish or add the diffuser for a softbox look. 12/10

Photography has been my primary hobby for many years, and lately I have become more and more interested in portrait photography using strobes. But I like to turn the hard light of a strobe into the soft light that is less harsh and more flattering, especially for children and ladies. I bought a Glow 34 inch beauty dish / soft box, and I liked it so much I bought a second one so that I have more lighting options. Some lighting accessories are frighteningly expensive, and difficult to assemble and set up. These units are inexpensive (comparatively), and they are the easiest to set up and take down of any I have used. And on top of that I believe the quality is good enough that they will last for years. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Very nice product of this type. The materials and construction are very good. Good details. I am pleased with the purchase. Just be aware that due to the materials used (especially the metal rods and plate inside), it is heavier than a typical softbox of comparable size, so have a suitable light stand to support it and your flash. That said, this unit is nicely made, and a very good value, when compared to similar products from "name brands" that have much higher prices. I looked at many other "beauty dish" types, and selected this one. I am glad I did.

I haven’t had a chance to use it much yet, but so far it seems good. It is pretty easy to set up and take down, which is nice. It works well with a speed light using an S type adapter. The big downside is the weight. This is my first softbox, so maybe the weight is typical for such things. But this is about five pounds by itself, and more when you add a light source to it. If you look at buying light stands, you’ll find that most of the affordable ones can only accommodate around 5-7 pounds maximum, and even that is questionable at max height on a windy day. So you’ll want to get a good air or spring cushioned light stand that can accommodate 8-20 pounds. You can get a good air-cushioned Flashpoint stand for around $30. But pretty much any other stand capable of holding this will require you to spend a lot more money. The big advantage of these is how portable and affordable (relatively speaking) they are, but the weight cuts down on that advantage.

I recently purchased the Glow EZ Lock 34 Inch Silver Folding SOFTBOX with Speed Ring and I’m very happy with my purchase. The softbox is easy to set up and comes with 2 layers of diffusion material and an egg crate grid. The light coming from this softbox is beautiful even without the diffusion layers. I also appreciate that it’s modular and can be used as a video light too. Overall, I think it’s a great value for money product from Glow and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality softbox. I hope this helps!
