Excellent choice. VESA mount FTW. Reliable. Would buy again.
Literally changed my life. Ok, not _literally_ but the use of a 10,000 LUX lamp for SAD has been incredibly helpful. After reading the research papers, I mounted this one on a VESA stand, the default stand is very stable just FYI so it was just above eye level and angled down (like real outdoor light) and sip my coffee while sitting at my desk for 30 minutes first thing in the morning Sept-April. Bonus: the 30 minute timer keeps me honest and avoids overexposure. The lower settings are excellent for using it as a bright utility lamp. I prefer the minimalist appearance. Well worth the purchase. Might get another and put it on a taller stand for use in my basement gym during those dark months.

Look no further. This is THE ONE
I have purchased several SAD lamps of various brands over the years. Quite simply the Carex Day-Light Elite blows them all away. It gets generously bright but spreads that light over a large window so as not to irritate the eyes. I can attest that the light is so bright that just 15-30 minutes a day will give you definite therapeutic results. I woke up one morning feeling tired and a few minutes of this light made me feel super energized. I will give a warning however. If you sit too close to the lamp for too long and too late in the afternoon, it may cause you to have a hard time falling and staying asleep at night, which has never happened to me with other lamps. For that reason I limit the use of this light only to the mornings and I try to stay around 18 inches away. For other lamps I've had to sit much closer. The stand that it comes with is high quality, allowing one to elevate the light and angle it downward toward my eyes, which has a greater therapeutic effect than if it were sitting on a desk pointing up. A big selling point for me is that it is VESA mountable, creating limitless options for how you might want to mount it. I ended up buying a monitor arm so I could attach it to my desk without taking too much desk real estate (see photos). I have not found a better therapy light on the market. This is the one to get and its worth every penny.

Great light unit for winter depression
Wow, this is a great find. Clear bright light, easy to use, works well and does what it was made for. I looks goood sitting on the counter, is easy to use. It was expensive compared to the smaller 8" X 10" units, but well worth the cost. I have SAD (winter depression) and have benefited greatly from using full spectrum therapy lamps (Often called SAD lights). This one has an unusually large screen, rather than sitting close to it, as I have done with smaller versions, I have it on the kitchen counter and turn it on first thing in the morning while I am making coffee and unloading the dishwasher. It's impact has been significant, really helps, I've had little winter depression this year.

You'll easily start your mornings & feel good!
This product has changed my life. I heard about it via Bryan Johnson on Youtube. I wake up and go get my herbal caffeine-free coffee and I sit in front of it for my 30 mins morning light therapy. It has completely transformed my groggy, unhappy & unproductive mornings into awake, happy & productive. I honestly recommend it for anyone. I feel so much better about life. I even wake up naturally most of the time now when I've always needed alarms as I use it around the same time each day. Just use it in the morning as you'll have a hard time going to sleep if you use it later. It's extremely bright & huge but that is studied to perform the best. This model has the power light-touch button. 4 light options (use max for the major benefits) & 15 to 60 mins auto off light-touch buttons. I just set to 30 mins for my session and it automatically turns off & I'm ready to start the day. I've needed this my whole life. It's turned me into a morning person. Try and get it on sale using a coupon or on discount but otherwise it's extremely worth it. Also, don't stare at the light but in the direction of it & put another light on in the room when using it so when it auto shuts off you aren't left in a dark room.

Bryan Johnson Approved Sunlight Substitute - Sleek, Solid, and Seriously Good. Just a bit expensive
So, I took the plunge on the Carex Day-Light Elite Bright Light Therapy Lamp after seeing it featured in Bryan Johnson’s morning Blueprint routine. If it’s good enough for him, I figured, why not me? Here’s the breakdown after using it: Rock-solid build quality: The lamp feels solid. The base is sturdy, it adjusts without wobbling, and honestly, it’s not even close to cheap-feeling, almost seems like it is medical grade. Top-tier light delivery: With 10,000 lux at around 12 inches, this thing means business. It’s clinically calibrated and packs a punch that your winter doldrums won’t stand a chance against Worth the splurge, but not cheap: Price is up there. Definitely a high-end pick. But given the craftsmanship and results, I can confidently say it's worth the investment. Bryan Johnson's endorsement carries serious street cred in longevity and wellness circles it’s like having the seal of a biohacking wizard on this lamp. If waking up energized is your jam, this should be on your radar.
