What size/width slot is required for pushing the plastic edge into?

Not sure what width you are asking about. If you are talking about the channel it goes into it is pretty much standard size which is a groove you press the flange into. The only width/gap you need to make sure of is the door to the frame which is about 5/8. Close your door and measure the spacing. I used this to replace the original of 37 years old and it fit like a charm. Very satisfied, looks good and will stop any air leaks. Hope this helps.

Just ok

This is just ok. It’s not nearly as large as it appears, and won’t fill bigger gaps. Also not super sticky so I don’t believe it will last.

A great buy

Great weather strip, keeps room temperature, good door seal, adhesive could be better but still really good. It’s a really flush fit especially for doors. As far as noice reduction, I paired it with draft stopper and it definitely helped reduce a good bit of noise, but i’m sure if you have rockwool insulation it would work way better, my needs are simple. simple color. It’s a good weather strip for your money and great length.
