Maybe. Fan is sturdy and blows air well. It might depend on how sturdy porch is - screened in, solid would probably be good.

No, you cannot control the oscillation from the remote control. The oscillation can be turned on/off by lifting and pushing oscillation pin located on the rear motor cover.
