Perfect replacement and fit on my `88Classic Fifty Mercury
Preliminarily it's perfect, physically identical to original and turned over motor on first attempt. My 30 year old starter failed, and I was able to replace with this unit in less than 15 minutes (while still in the water.) I strongly suggest replacing the solenoid at the same time!

Worked great. The only thing that may be an issue for other customers is the mounting posts are opposite each other, where the original posts were 45 degrees from each other.

Did not work,not what they advertise
Said on page it would fit motor,did not 2 inches two short.for a 1982 70 hp Mercury. Will not order from them again.bad info.not messing around with return Very dissatisfied.

Only worked on the way out on the water then trying to return it was seized couldn't even turn over with a wrench. Ruined my day on water !

Hmmm. This doesn't fit my 55 hp SeaPro.
My engine requires a part# 50-44369A1 - which this motor is described at replacing. The mounts in my engine are too large in diameter. Bolt don't line up. Does not fit. Motor seems pretty good quality though, so 2 stars.
