Don’t buy cheap plastic calipers, get these instead!
I bought these digital calipers to replace a plastic set I got from Harbor Freight years ago. Those calipers worked ok for many years, but I always regretted not getting a better stainless steel set. Now I have a good set of digital calipers that are more precise and hold zero much better. These are well made digital calipers. They weigh 6.8 ounces on my postal scale. They are made with thick, milled and polished, hardened stainless steel. They have a set screw and a thumb wheel for ease of use. The size is perfect for precision measurements and portability. The calipers came with a plastic case, a set of instructions, and a small screwdriver for the battery compartment, which are all adequate but unremarkable. I am very pleased with the quality, versatility, and value of these digital calipers. This digital caliper set came with batteries installed and a spare set in the case. It turned itself on right out of the box when I opened the jaws with the thumb wheel. It instantly zeroed out when I pushed the ZERO button and with one exception stayed zeroed out while doing some accuracy testing. I did some checking with a set of feeler gauges and a General No. 300 6-inch metal ruler. I found these calipers to be accurate, well within acceptable tolerances. With the push of a button you can switch this digital caliper between MM, Inches, and Fractions. It shows millimeters to the hundredths, inches to the thousandths, and fractions down to 1/128th. The display is not back lit, but it is easy to read in low light as well as direct sunlight. I haven’t found anything negative about these calipers to comment about. There are several identical stainless steel calipers listed here on Amazon, some generic and some branded, that are obviously made by the same manufacturer in China. I chose this one based on price, fast delivery, and reviews. Is one better than the other? I doubt it! What I don’t doubt is these stainless steel calipers will out perform the plastic ones and they are worth the extra few dollars.

High precision, sturdy build—essential for verifying coins!
I rely on these stainless steel digital calipers for all kinds of precise measurements around the house, but their absolute best use-case for me is checking coins for counterfeits. When you are trying to verify if a coin is genuine, weight is only half the battle—you need highly accurate physical dimensions. This tool glides incredibly smoothly and lets me measure diameter and thickness down to a fraction of a millimeter. The large LCD screen makes reading the numbers immediate, and the one-key button quickly switches between metric, inches, and fractions depending on what reference guide I’m using. The hardened stainless steel construction feels heavy and durable in the hand, especially compared to those flimsy carbon fiber or plastic calipers that bend and throw off your readings. The zero-setting button is highly responsive, which is great for comparative measurements when checking multiple coins in a row. Whether you are a hobbyist, DIYer, or a coin collector wanting to protect yourself from fakes, this is an indispensable, high-quality tool. Easily worth 5 stars!

In love
This thing is great it's a perfect size it has a wonderful weight to it it's fully metal and it does exactly what it's supposed to do what more could you want? Extremely easy to use it's made out of metal so obviously it's sturdy and from everything form of verification/calibration I have, it is accurate!! It's functionally a lifesaver lol just a few days before buying this I had bought another one at about half price that was all plastic and I really love that one it was also great but here's the difference and what makes this one worth twice the money even if it wasn't made out of stainless steel, it measures two places past the decimal point in millimeters!! That is A BIG DEAL or at least it is to me and make my own lock pics and turning tools as well as make alterations to "store bought" tools and it is an absolute must have at least if you want to rid yourself fear doubt and anxiety of removing too much material this is absolutely my favorite toy ever!! Can't recommend them enough even if your doing some "real" or serious jobs that require/demand precision. The box it's comes with is also pretty nice tho, I don't think the pieces that keep it closed will last long because the hing for them is made out of the flash from the molding process so it's so thin you can see through it. If you're not familiar with molding or the term, flash or flashing is the excess plastic that will squeeze out of the mold sometimes it's very thin and is usually just brushed off or removed by hand once the item is removed from the mold just about everyone has seen it before whether they realize it or not and it is a bit thicker than average flashing would be but still I don't imagine it lasting very long so unless I'm actually transporting it I don't snap them shut if it's just going to be laying where it's at and occasionally opened up used and then replaced I just leave it lying with the tabs unclasped to prevent unnecessary wear and tear hopefully extending their life. And if/when they do happen to break your average size rubber band is more than efficient to fix the issue. But even if this didn't come with a box at all I would still be thrilled and be leaving the same review also it comes as a small screwdriver which is Handy and a couple extra batteries. If you need precision measurements buy this thing!!

Nice calipers, just make sure you have a fresh battery installed
UPDATE: After playing with these some more, changing the battery solved the wonkiness. I think it's crazy that the first battery made them seem broken, but they seem to be working correctly now, and I like them. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Unfortunately didn't get a chance to use these within the return window. Pulled them out for the first time today and the screen just flashes random numbers. It will occasionally show the info for a measurement, but otherwise is unusable. Device also will not turn off.

Good caliper, more useful than I thought it would be
I use this caliper way more than I thought I would. I bought it a couple years ago and it comes in very handy. I keep it with my measuring tapes and I'll grab this first for smaller items. It's nice that it comes with spare batteries and a screwdriver to change it. I've used the tool enough to go through a battery. The case it comes in is nice as well, seems sturdy enough for light duty and has places for the battery and screwdriver. As far as accuracy, this tool seems about right. The attached pictures have a part that should be 4" but is plastic. I have measured precision machined pieces that were correct to the mil. The numbers on the screen are large and easy to read. The only thing this could really use is a backlight but that would also sacrifice battery runtime. The different units of measure are also good. I don't need to do math to convert imperial to metric and vice versa. For the price, this is well worth it.

So impressed I had to buy a second one
I ordered this caliper because I wanted to have a reference set in my home office and didnt want to continue to bring my Mitutoyo calipers back and forth. I saw a quick deal on Amazon and these looked to be what I wanted. I was VERY skeptical and had very low expectations at this price point. The environment I will be using them in is a clean, dry (no risk of coolant contamination) home office and machine shop where I can live with accuracy of a couple thousandths. So lets look closer. When they arrived I immediately felt the weight was significant. The case fit nice, came with extra batteries, it all looked good, but how did it perform measuring things? I first zeroed the caliper and opened/closed it arbitrarily many times. The purpose was to see when opened and closed it returned to 0.000 each time or if I had to re-zero it every time I took a reading. To my surprise it zeroed each time. Now it had my attention! I took out a 1" gage block. (Starrett Grade 2 gage block set) as seen in the photo. I measured it 30 times. The reading never varied more than 0.0005. Now I know calipers are not a measurement tool that will accurately/repeatedly measure tenths... but bear with me here. The point is that these measured the gage block with a reading that never varied more than 0.001" reading to reading (+/-0.0005). My Starrett and Mitutoyo digital calipers cant do that...! So let’s step it up and see how it does with a 3" gage block. I repeated that same study and took 30 readings. I had the same result! Now I am seriously impressed! The largest gage block I have is a 4" and I thought about trying that as well, but frankly if these did this well with repeatedly zeroing, and using the 1" and 3" gages blocks then I am EXTREMELY SATISIFIED and thats good enough for me! To sum it up, I am a professional automotive design engineer and use tools such as this everyday. The quality of this tool at the price is impressive. Sure it has some minor issues such as the adjustment roller is loose and wobbly, and the stainless steel housing that covers the "brains" doesnt fit perfectly, but these minor details have nothing to do with giving a good measurement. The quality of data this tool provides is on par with calipers costing well into the hundreds of dollars and even those do not have as much of a robust feel about them as these do. Time will tell if they hold up to a "professional" user, but I have confidence they will. I would most certainly recommend these to others. This is a good choice for calipers at any price.

The Most Useful Tool I Did Not Know I Needed
I have only had this digital caliper for several days, but I can already tell it is one of those tools you end up reaching for all the time. The first thing that stands out is the build quality. The stainless steel body feels solid and smooth when you slide it open and closed. There is no wobble. No cheap plastic feel. It glides with precision and locks down firmly when you need a steady measurement. The large LCD screen is clear and easy to read. Numbers show up instantly. Switching between inches, metric, and fractions is simple and quick. That feature alone makes it incredibly practical whether you are working on home projects, automotive parts, 3D printing, woodworking, or anything that requires accurate measurements. Zeroing it out takes one tap. Measurements are consistent and repeatable. Inside measurements, outside measurements, depth readings. It handles all of it without guesswork. If you care about accuracy, this gives you confidence right away. For the price, it feels like a professional level tool without the professional level cost. It is one of those purchases that makes you wonder why you did not buy it sooner. If you do any DIY work, home projects, or detail oriented tasks, this is a tool you will be glad you have. Even after just a few days, I can confidently say it is perfect for what most people need.

Great value and a solid caliper!!
Okay...this is one sturdy caliper!!! At this price-point it can't be beat!! Comes with a nice case, spare batteries, and a screwdriver to open the battery case!! I have 8" long NEIKO I bought in 2017 and it's still going strong but I needed a second one to keep in the house for 3d printing. I rarely, if ever, need to measure more then 5 inches so wanted to give this one a try. I was not disappointed!! This one does not feel light at all. Very, very heavy duty! It actually has some heft to it. It easily converts from Metric-> Imperial -> Fractions with a very satisfying button press. And the readout is VERY EASY to read! If I need another one, or someone asks for a recommendation. I will HIGHLY recommend this one. Especially at the price I paid for it which was $16!!

Bad workmanship, Sharp edges everywhere.
This is my first proper digital caliper, it felt solid in the hand as most steel do, it slides smoothly, it measures a accurately, these are the good parts. But is the maker expecting us to always wear a protective glove in order to use it? Cause if you don't, you'll get cuts and scratches by the sharp edges everywhere! I'm not talking about the pointy measuring corners, but all other edges, only the long slider parts are sand smoothly. I had to spent minutes to use sandpaper to protect myself. This show that a product may be good at performing its task, the user experience is what make it used frequently or just thrash one side. Also, the rolling wheel is so loose it sound like a bell when carrying around, no backlight. I do not recommend buying this, get something from brand name that treasure their reputation instead of some unknown that change its name when the rating gets bad.
