The only illustrations are maps and information at the very beginning before Chapter One

are the book covers the same as in the picture

No, the books I received all had front covers with the same style of a large white face and a splash of colour e.g. bright blue eyes

Do the books have the secret messages/keys at the bottom of the pages?
