What is the bar spacing

I have 2 parakeets, I can get my pinky & ring finger between the bars. I love this cage, & so do my feather babies. But it does have many doors, lol & I have to be careful cause my cat diva sits there licking her lips. They both have gotten out, TG Diva was outside even tho they fly back and sit on top of it. Hope this helps, I would say about a half inch apart.

Would this work for 2 budgies? bars are close enough they can't escape, nor get heads caught? doors stay closed for houdinis? there's flying room?
