[Updated 2024-09-22]I updated to 4 stars, as the seller sent me a replacement hub/device and, so far, it works great. The HDMI port and connection work without any issues.The Satechi USB-C Pro Hub works okay.Good points:- Fits nicely on the side of the mac and looks good. Better than a device that is hanging off, like a dongle.- The USB-C and USB-A work wellBad points:- the HDMI adapter/port doesn't always work. At times when i connect to my external monitor, the monitor indicates that there is no device connected. Other times, it works. So, not sure...other than maybe it is a defect?

device is non functional
It looks very nice but unfortunately it didn't work. Copying of large files via the USB 3 ports and the SD port(s) produced corrupted file volumes that Apple Disk Utility was unable to repair. That said, the USB C ports did in fact appear to work. Unfortunately by the time I traced the issue back to this device the 30 day return period had just expired. I tried speaking directly to the manufacturer but they were not helpful. So - not recommended at all.Update - manufacturer seems to have had a change of heart and is now going to send me a replacement.
