The estuaries off the coast of Galicia are known for their clean waters and rich aquaculture. It is here that the Matiz Mussels are cultivated using certified methods and feed. Once harvested, the mussels are prepared by hand using old master cannery know-how and then packed with the highest quality extra virgin olive oil, vinegar, and spices to produce mussels that are moist, tender, and uncommonly flavorful. These mussels are exquisite right out of the can, in salads, on sandwiches. They also pair well sautéed with onions and roasted red peppers and a garnish of parsley and lemon. I don’t usually consume what the product is packed in but the vinegar and oil combo is so delicious I could drink it by itself as a broth. I dump this whole can into a cup of beef bone broth with just some salt and butter and ohh myy goodness. Meaty size and texture of the mussels are what you would expect from a high quality product. I will Always keep these on hand. Review: Plump & Savory - I"m keto and throw these in some scrambled eggs couple times a week. Taste great and they are nice and plump. Sometimes for a snack I eat they straight from the can, delicious & filling!

Tangy
Love these! They're not my favorite canned mussels of all, but the price is pretty good for organically raise mussels in real olive oil. Great way to add protein to pasta when you need a fast and easy meal. The vinegar really helps balance it.

Good (I am Spanish)
They are much more expensive than in Spain, but good flavour, not like the "Gallegos" ones, but alright. I could not find many options in the US....

These mussels are cooked and packed with the beard intact.
While the beard is edible, it is not appetizing and should be removed before eating the mussel. I will not buy these again.
