Ashcroft, Argiro and Keohane have put their extensive hands-on experiences and research-based practices in one, easy to read place. They have avoided the "fluf" and provided effective instructions for implementing scientifically based practices to support children with autism. This book is perfect for use in school district trainings, as effective methods can be provided to current or in-coming teachers, para-professionals and others in a quick and easy to read manor. In addition, as an Asst. Professor providing instruction to future special educators, I plan to add this book to my required reading list to assist in the instruction of effective teaching methodologies not only for students with autism, but students with moderate to severe disabilities in general. The breadth of methods covered provide an effective toolbox of methods and strategies that no parent, teacher or support persons working to support students with autism should be without!
