Is there a reason to buy 2 x deco m9s instead of 3 x deco m5s at a lower price?

You can easily mix the 2 they are compatible- I have 3 M9s and 2M5s. They all work great together.

Does it work with sky broadband, I know google nest doesn't.

Yes it does. I have Sky broadband and use this with my 2x M9 and 2x M5 decos. No issues whatsoever

Connected to the first deco im getting full 500mbps but on the second deco I'm getting 250 only being 20 ft from each other how do I improve this?

I have this issue with mine as welll the one at router does full speed and one in bedroom upstairs half the amount but I'm happy enough as, it now never cuts out where as, before I was getting 70meg in bedroom when it had signal witch it hardly had any one or two bars now it has, full bars all the time
