Sabine Lippert's Beadwork Evolution: New Techniques Using Peyote Stitch and Right Angle Weave (Lark Jewelry & Beading Bead Inspirations) Review: Full of absolutely gorgeous pieces! - Sabine is one of my favorite bead artists; her designs are so stunning, and I love how creative she is! I pre-ordered this book about six months ago, and am so thrilled with it! It is full of unique, gorgeous pieces. As of today's date, desertcart doesn't have the "Look Inside" feature available, so I'll provide a brief breakdown of the chapters: * Introduction * Beads, Tools, and Techniques * Peyote Can Be Different -- contains four projects * Right-Angle Weave and Variations -- contains six projects * Beaded Components and the Right Connections -- contains five projects * Embellished Shapes and Shaped Embellishments -- contains five projects * Go Dimensional -- contains five projects The pieces themselves are a nice mix of bracelets (8), earrings (5), pendants/shaped forms (5), rings (1), and necklaces (6). I had been wondering why the book was called _Beadwork Evolution_, and Sabine explains in the introduction that she titled it that because "the ways we use [beads] can be quite evolutionary." Indeed, the shapes and forms of the pieces in this book really do show unique variations. As she further explains, "In this book, I want to show the world of little changes -- those clever, small variations that can make things easier, nicer, neater, or just different from the usual path." Although this book just arrived and I have yet to make anything from it yet, I can tell that the instructions and diagrams are really clearly laid out. I have made four projects by Sabine in the past, and her instructions are always great -- and I always get compliments on the pieces! I think that this goes to show the versatility of Sabine's designs; some beading books won't appeal to many readers because the pieces seem geared towards a certain type of demographic, but Sabine's pieces are always versatile and stunning. Each pattern is also preceded by the usual color photograph, a list of supplies, and also the finished dimensions of the piece. The projects are not labeled in terms of their difficulty, but a quick glance at the instructions should be able to tell you whether or not you're up to making the piece. I just wish that this book, like her first book Sabine Lippert's Beaded Fantasies: 30 Romantic Jewelry Projects (Beadweaving Master Class Series) , was hardback instead of softback. I always find hardbacks easier to bead from since they lie flat for me. Of course, I'm not marking the book down for this since it's a personal preference and a minor quibble. Besides, this has good creases along the front and back of the cover, so with some gentle pressure, the book will stay open when beading from it. Also, Sabine has kits for some of the projects available on her website. I also ordered a second copy of this, as a gift for a friend, from my local bead store, and they're including a free pattern for those who buy the book locally. This past summer, I also had the wonderful pleasure of taking a class with Sabine at Creative Castle, and she really is amazing and so much fun! If you ever get the chance to take a class with her, definitely do. Her passion for beads carries over into this book, and I highly recommend it to seed beaders. Review: Beadwork Evolution is like a masters class of possibilities titled "Applied Embellished Beadweaving" - I feel like I waited forever for this book to come out, and joyfully, it met most of my expectations. Since it is a Lark book (a major publisher), the usual encyclopedia of stitches, supplies and glossary of terms is included, as well as an index and gallery. Often times the gallery (which is only photographs of nice beaded projects and includes no actual pattern) is used to advertise the book, which I feel is a bit misleading. A buyer thinks those are the projects that are to be included in the instructions. Unfortunately this is not the case and some of the best projects that were advertised with this are actually part of the gallery. I wish a publisher could disable those gallery pages from online consumers, to more accurately represent the patterns that are actually included in the book. That being said, I did not consider that misrepresentation in my review stars, but I thought buyers should be aware of this fact. This book included a whopping 25 patterns, which makes for a great variety of projects! The technique of patterns, I like to think of as 'embellished applied beadwoven' style. Here's why I say this. If you have never beaded with beads on top of beads, this book shows you in great detail how it is done. This technique is also known as embellishment, you are adding to something that you have already created. It is 'applied' because the patterns use many forms of bead stitching together in one piece. And lastly the patterns are beadwoven, which means you use only a needle and thread to complete the patterns. The projects are very well laid out both in picture, written and photography. A beautiful book. If you are new to this style of beadweaving, this book would be an excellent start that should assure success from all levels of beaders. It's like a masterclass of possibilities

gorgeous works of beadie art!
Stunning, just simply stunning designs!!! I purchased the kindle version and loved it so now I must get the paper format a well. Even on the kindle version, the designs are well illustrated, well laid out, and detailed. Sabine Lippert is among my favorite designers and I am never disapointed with any of her books. There are so many gorgeous designs within that its hard to pick one to start with..lol. I look forward to more books by this designer (hopefully) in the future.

Creative and Inspiring
With clear, concise instructions and imaginative projects, Sabine has once again written a book that I love. Each project seems to be a stepping off point to inspiring me to think outside the box and put a new spin on beadwork. Her instructions are easy to follow and being a visual learner, her diagram are a joy to follow. But on the times when I decided to use her written instructions, I had absolutely no problem following them. With her unique and imaginative projects, I would automatically want to purchase any book that this artist should write. I highly recommend it.

Sabine has a way with beading and her explanations of her technique is extremely clear! I learn a new way to do something with every book of hers and almost every pattern. Each book has something new to offer. Any beader should have AT LEAST one of her books.

Lots of eye candy!
Some items, like the "charm" bracelets, will be quite unattractive when worn, as the charms will show the reverse side when the bracelet is worn-- unless of course you keep your hand down at your side the entire time you wear the bracelet! Other designs are very pretty!

Sabine is one of my favorite designers and I really enjoyed this book
Sabine is one of my favorite designers and I really enjoyed this book. If you are brand new to bead stitching, I would recommend you have someone who is more practiced assist you in some of the projects -- they progress in their difficulty but I wouldn't want anyone to get frustrated and stop simply because you may take on something you aren't ready for. Sabine has a way of making the more challenging projects manageable even for a beginner.

This is a very inspiring book with some intricate designs. Great book for those who enjoy making extravagant jewellery and love a challenge. On a negative note, it means I have to stock up on my bead selection.

This cook contains a variety of projects to try out to extend your beading skills Clearly set out but could have had bigger print, so you can refer quickly when working a pattern.
