Great kit for the price
Great kit for the price. The ebike I built has just enough power for big hills, easily 20+ miles of range if you're reasonable with it, and goes as fast as I would feel safe going on a bicycle. Video instructions were great and I had no trouble following them. 2 warnings I'd have for anyone building one. 1. Make sure you know what size wheels you have, apparently a 26in wheel doesn't measure 26in, it's closer to 22. Maybe I'm just dumb but I had to put this on a different bike than I'd originally intended. 2. There isn't much clearance for the bolt heads under the battery, so you will likely have to grind them down or buy some low profile ones. Easy and cheap fix, but it's basically the only part this kit doesn't give you so worth knowing ahead of time if you don't want to run to the hardware store in the middle of your build.

Relatively easy to install and fun to ride!
I bought the 500 W Yose Power eBike conversion kit to convert an old mountain bike. (I got the free hub version, not the cassette.) The kit arrived extremely well packaged with all the parts necessary. I guess I didn't look closely at the pictures, but it also comes with a crank puller, a free wheel removal tool, and a bottom bracket tool. I used my own, but it's a nice touch that they include them. The kit installed pretty easily. All the issues I had were due to my old bike - a stuck bottom bracket and a grip shifter that broke. I installed the whole shebang - the brake levers, Peddle Assist Sensor and everything. I did purchase a Grin eBike double Bob mount for the battery to make the mounting more secure and also to provide more mounting options. I wouldn't have been able to mount the battery inside the bike’s main triangle without it. I also bought an eBikeling torque arm to protect the rear dropouts, but I am not sure if it's really necessary. There are asymmetrical washers supplied with the kit that fit into the rear dropouts on both sides of the bike. They seem to work like the torque arm does. The video on the Amazon listing helped a lot with installation. The paper manual wasn't all that helpful. (Note: I installed a 7 speed freewheel on the hub, so I had to buy that too. I’ve been having no trouble with it.) The cables are long, so I had to zip tie a lot on the frame. They provide a bag that velcros into the triangle, and I used that to hold a long loop of the cable that goes to the LCD display. The little handlebar-mounted controller/LCD display has an on/off switch, and you can push it on the top and the bottom of its face to change the power output of the motor. There are five power settings that you see as little squares across the top. Speed is displayed as the big number in the middle. I think that the battery charge is displayed across the bottom. It’s pretty minimal, but I like the easy way you can change the power output. I just went on a ten mile ride last night and it was super fun. I tried riding with the PAS disconnected - I wasn't sure if I wanted to use it. However, with it disconnected, it seemed like I could not control the power output with the handlebar display, so the thumb throttle just went from 0 to 500 W, I guess. It was a little difficult to control the speed with the throttle that way. I reconnected the PAS, and I really enjoyed how the bike rode. I could easily ramp the power up and down by clicking on the display. When I was going up hills, I could feel the motor start to push me up when my speed decreased. It was a blast. I never went to the max setting (5 squares). At 4 squares (80% of full power), the bike rode faster than I thought I should be going on our community bike path. I found that I adjusted the output power quite a lot – like when passing pedestrians. I think if I was riding in traffic I would adjust it down at stoplights and back up once I got going. Maybe I’ll get used to the acceleration. Oh yeah, the battery… The battery seems to function fine. I charged it up overnight, and I don’t think that my first ride drained it significantly. I pedaled a lot! I’m very happy with this purchase so far. I think the LCD display is a little minimal, but maybe that’s a good thing. I’m concerned with the durability of the parts. The hub seems well made from what I can tell from looking at the outside. The other parts are little flimsy feeling – like the thumb throttle and PAS. I think that only time will tell if the battery is a good one.

Great kit at a great price
I've put a few dozen miles on this kit now and so far I'm very impressed. The install process was fairly straight forward, the only issues I really had were due to my bike being a bit older and it was tough to get it apart. I can get up to 25mph without a problem and on mostly throttle I think this battery could easily last for around 25-30 miles per charge. I also had the chance to test out their support, because I broke one of the cables within the first day (entirely my fault). I reached out to their support for a replacement part and they responded within a few hours and were very helpful. The replacement part was out of stock in their US warehouse but it only took about 6-7 days to ship from China. It was honestly one of my better experiences when contacting support for an Amazon seller, very quick and helpful. All in all, I think this is one of the best purchases I've made in years! FYI - to get into the settings on the DZ40 display that comes with this kit, turn the battery and display on, then hold the mode button for 4-5 seconds. The first section of the settings is km/mph, the second is the tire size, third is max speed, and I believe the fourth section shows the battery voltage but I could be wrong on that.

Waste of Money!!!!!!
Their kits DO NOT fit every bike! I had everything installed and went to install the battery to find out it wouldn’t fit where my water bottle holder screw holes were. We have popular bikes, Electra Townies. No mention on their listing of bikes this won’t fit on or measurements to check the fit of the battery. Very dissatisfied, especially since I had to pay $237.00 to ship them back! Crossing my fingers I get my refund!

Not very easy to install. No instructions or support but fun once done.
Now that it's put together. It's fun and powerful. I'm a big guy and it still gets up to 25mph. The installation instructions and videos are very lacking. There are no close up images providing specifics. You have to reuse the gears and brakes from your existing rim. I ended up just buying new ones. The posts for the rear axle barely fit into the notches of my frame. The posts only fit in a certain way making it really hard to remove/replace if you have to replace the rear inner tube. The led display/controller doesn't come with any instructions and defaults to metric. Just getting it to go was a mystery and changing it to mph was a mystery. A q/a in Amazon pointed out one button on the controller is the mode button that you have to hold for 5 seconds to get into settings. At which point some an intelligible characters are displayed that you can toggle through and with trailer you can figure out which one means imperial and which one means metric. The pedal assist is right side, my bike doesn't have room for it on the right side. So I don't have pedal assist. The mount for the battery seems like it's supposed to have some sort of sliding feature, But it's not the same as the one on the video and I don't really know how it's supposed to work. Eventually I just jammed it in there upside down because my water bottle mount is low on the down frame and this expects it to be high up. I like that for 500 bucks I modernized a 25 year old bike instead of tossing it. But a big part of me feels like I could have just got something turnkey for 1000.

Great idea, doesn’t quite work
Doesn’t fit well. The spinning of the wheel causes the screw to wear down and essentially is stripped. Good customer service.

Smooth Ride, Difficult install.
I have an older mountain bike and I decided to convert it into an e-bike for a more convenient commute. Everything came in one big package with tools like the hex key wrench and bottom bracket removal tool. As far as functionality goes, the system does work. However, it does teem to have 1 flaw. Even when charged at 100 percent, the indicator can sometimes jump between 60 to 80 percent before it jumps back up 100 percent again. For its durability, it holds up pretty well. If you don't have a modification to place the battery anywhere else than the spot for the water bottle holder, you can just kiss that spot goodbye. The battery will take up that space. Another thing that you have to take into consideration is the levers. They do NOT have any gears to shift into. You will have to either find a way to keep them both on or find a compatible lever for this system. If the company had provided that part to switch between gears, it would get 5 stars automatically.

2nd kit install on a Cruzbike recumbent
I installed a first kit on a friends old but decent touring bike that needed lots of refurbishing. The motor install was the easy part, the battery pack mounted on down tube easily with cables long enough. The second kit for my refurbished Cruzbike T50 recumbent works well now but needed technical modifications. The unusual Cruzbike frame style required the controller to be mounted upside down under the frame but the battery's weight had to be moved to the rear rack. I made a 3ft long heavy duty extension chord using spare nickel strips to form the chord's male and female plugs to match those of the YosePower pack. The PAS cable was luckily just long enough but the frame's larger diameter aluminum bottom bracket prevented the PAS bracket from seating flush. So I flipped this bracket then remounted its Hall device to face correctly using a nut to space it 1mm from the magnet disk.
