Each ball is marked a number: 1, 2, 3 or 4. what does this number mean? tia.

Typically, in any can of balls, you will see the manufacturers name (Penn in this case) and a number. If there are 3 balls in a can, all will have the same number. The reason for that is that if you remember your ball's numbre and the manufacturer, you can easily find it if the ball gets away into another court. That is really the only reason a ball is numbered. The number does not designate what type of a tennis ball it is. I hope that helps! Take care. David B.

If the tennis balls were transported by flight, will the air-pressure damage the balls (resulting in dead balls) ?

If the shape of the can does not change, the pressure inside the sealed can will remain consistent. The pressure on the outside of the can will not affect the inside. Temperature, however can affect the pressure. Higher temp, more pressure. Not sure how that will affect the balls.

Does it really take 2-5 weeks for delivery?

Should take less than one week-- 10 days at most.

You're not a tennis pro, these balls are as good as any others! Arguably, these do wear out and lose bounce SLIGHTLY more quickly that better, more expensive balls (Wilson US Open, ProPenn, etc). But at less than half the price, just open a brand new can!! Ah that sound and smell! And quit blaming your bad playing on the balls...or your racket, or the fact that mercury is in retrograde.

I bought these for my kids. Cans at the top had lost its pressure (ie could easily squeeze the can before opening). Lemons. Haven sent email to Penn and in process of submitting formal complaint with Penn head office. Wouldn’t buy again as a result. UPDATED: Penn replied to my initial email right away. They are to send me a replacement cans in lieu of the damaged balls. Impressive customer service.
