what is the width of the neck at the nut?

It is 52 mm in standard, or 53, 54 mm in specific case. This width affects the distances between the strings at the nut. You may prefer the wider if you have large hands (with big fingertips). However, this may deteriorate your fingering technique.

Is it suitable for hard tension strings?

For me, I don’t feel it is. I like the product and it was noted that this was the version that took over the C171G (if you had this other version then you will see a big difference in woodwork, quality and sound - and most suitable for hard tension). I preferred the previous version because it felt durable and strong; but I like this guitar because it’s more suitable for my type of playing - maybe it’s more delicate. Anyhow... my opinion, no, I feel it isn’t suitable for hard tension strings.
