Has anyone had this work in resin? I’ve tried it twice now with no luck.

Has to be brushed on mold well and pour black colored resin. If mold isn't sticky enough use mold release spray. Will not work very well unless backed by black I always brush my molds with the color I want them I brush it again with black then pour black.

Would these pigments work with candles ?

They should mix with any liquid but I only work with laquer based material

Can I add it to my homemade play dough?

Not sure if you can mix it with dough but I do know you can mix it with resin and paint it on.

Can I mix multiple thermochromic powders in different colors to achieve the color I want?

I do all the time! But some times you end up with grey or brown FYI
