This is not only modern and gorgeous, its sturdy, and I don't know what ppl are talking about how you need to go up on the lamp to turn it on......I think EVERY table lamp has the same normal switch!! The color is bright but not blinding, like a refund lamp, the shade is fine if following instructions, I accidentally turn it upside down as well, but its EXTREMELY sturdy, no issues, if want a bright light ,get a bright bulb, ifvesntbles, get a dimmer bulb, but I loved so much got another! Only problem had was I did choose to ship on Amazon packaging, and both times did not ..which I was a little confused, being I live I a condo and delivered without evrn tongue my bell.....so any could have taken it, thankfully nobody dud, and amazing, as usual, dealt well with the situation. I have full faith in them. But thus lamp is out of thus earth perfect!!!@

Over the style and look was perfect for my bedroom. I wanted something very modern looking that when with the dark espresso colored furniture I had in my bedroom. I also wanted something that was small enough to fit on my night table next to my bed without taking all the space up (since I have my wireless phone charger and my alarm clock on there). It was perfect. The quality of both the base and the lamp shade are very nice. I put a 60 watt LED lightbulb in there and it puts out a great amount of filtered light from the shade. Again, I have no complaints there. I had read that several people had issues where the cord and the switch for the light were on the same side which meant that you would either have to reach behind the lamp to turn it off or have the cord in the front. I did not have that issue with the one I received. My only complaint that I do have with it is that the room between the base and the lamp shade is rather narrow and to be able to turn it on and off you have to reach up into that narrow spot and turn the light switch off. A little bit cumbersome, but it is doable. I guess I could get a smart outlet to be able to turn it on and off from an app on the phone, but it isn't that bed yet. The lamp came undamaged. It was well packaged. It looked exactly like it was on the web page and functioned without any issue. Just make sure that when attaching the lamp shade, you put it on correct (it covers the light bulb completely) if not just turn it up side down from the current way and it will. I got it on sale and I think it is of a quality that is more than what I spent on it. This is why it gets 5 stars.
