Great Condor Product, but you know that, sheath came up short.
The further you are from the road the road, the bigger the knife you need. The Canvas sheath on this one was not too good, some fit probs, retainer strap position, etc Leather sheath would have been more appropriate, canvas is not a jungle type sheath, leather is fine. Kydex for the jungle. Blade has factory bevel and very modestly sharpened. IMO overall a Very nice knife, fit and finish, good build, and this one was Amazon Discounted as resale or used. Good Amazon shopping deal for me.

Decent, but not the value it was - strap stretches with use, so better it starts too small
The blade is pretty well finished, but I agree the coating is an afterthought and it's probably going to wear off with more use, so who cares if Pedro just dipped it and hung it to dry? To get around the strap being small, fasten it at the narrowest point of the handle, then slide the knife deeper into the sheath until the strap reaches the wider part of the handle. After a week or two, it will have stretched and it will stretch more as used until it can fasten around the handle at the wide area.

Great small machete
I got this specifically because I wanted a 'small' machete that would occupy little side to side space (like thicker bending kuks) so that it would fit nicely on the side of my pack or at my waist. I also wanted something that would be easier to use in close quarters work, unlike bigger and longer machetes. This works perfectly for all of that. Craftmanship is nailed here--this baby is built like a tank but the weight is just right. There is no point on the tip, because it is for chopping and slashing, not jabbing. The steel is thick for hard use but not so thick as to be too heavy. The handle feels comfortable in the hand. The sheath isn't all leather, so it's better outside in my area--it isn't fancy but it does the job right. Very happy with it--it has now taken its place on my pack. Feel almost a bit Grimm. :)

This knife is a nice, strong, and reliable product.
This knife is a nice, strong, and reliable product. I did not expect to be that heavy, though.

Great Machete
I have a few different Condor machete's and this one is right up there with the others. I like the length and weight. It is easy to carry but long enought to use. This is not one for hacking through a lot of very dense vegatation, and very thick brush. Although you can eventually get through what you need to - even felling larger trees, because of the length, this would be more useful for lighter brush and lose vines. You would want a different tool to get through extreemly thick brush and vines. If this was the only tool I had in an emergency, or camping / hiking and or survival scenario - I would not feel like I was totally unprepared.

It's ok
Compared to a Martindale British army golok machete that’s at half the price it's ok. Same style of machete. The Condor is better finished. Nice Condor convex grind. Full tang. But I kind of like the Martindale better even though it's less finished. and doesn't usually come with a sheath. Not saying the Condor isn't sweet but the Martindale feels more balanced in my hand and both have basically the same performance.. If you can't sharpen a edge or use sandpaper to smooth a handle definitely the Condor is the item. Otherwise it's a toss up. BTW the coating on the Condor blade is uneven in coverage. Thin in some places, runs in others as some reviewers noted. Looks dipped and allowed to dry with no particular care to finish other than corrosion protection. I'm ok with that but some might mind.

Great for Bush craft
A small heavy machete the last you a long time and a great bang for your buck. A great small machete for bush crafting great craftsmanship will not fall apart on your first trip this tool was meant to be abused and will stand up and come back for more

The contour handle fits my hand, making it a comfortable tool to use.
This is a very attractive and useful tool. But be prepared for some imperfections in the blade treatment. If you are looking for a beautiful thing to hang on the wall, maybe not this one. If you're looking for a tool that will serve you for the rest of your life, jump on it.

Built like a tank.
