Classic American Cars: An Illustrated Guide

I recently got this book and I really enjoyed reading it. It has a nice hardcover and is suprisingly big, with really nice details and illustrations. It has clear lettering and ample facts, and I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in cars.

Perfect gift for a man who collects classic cars. I got this for a 91st birthday gift and he was so happy when he opened it. This book has beautiful pictures along with good reading in it. Nicely made also.

My 11 year old grandson loves this. He studies it every day.

I cannot say enough good things about this colorful, fact filled and well illustrated romp through the highlights of the American Automobile. The reporting is skewed towards "everyday classics" like the muscle cars of the sixties rather than the more traditional classics of the twenties and thirties. For me, it was like visiting with old friends. I grew up the son of an automobile salesman with massive experience. Consequently, I have driven many of these cars and owned more than a few. This book is the new pride of my automobile collection. Each auto gets a very good overall a writeup placing it in its historical context followed by two more pages detailing in exquisite photographic detail the styling, marketing and engineering details of the model under discussion. The collector or just the interested reader will find these articles breathe new life into old memories.

I got this for my dad for his birthday and he LOVES it. He loves reading about all the engines and models and said it's great for spending 20 minutes reading before bed. He is very knowledgeable about cars and found this to be informative and interesting. He did find one mistake in a description about one car's engine, but otherwise has found it to be accurate. A great gift!

WOW! That's all I can say to state the truth on this book. I was hoping to get a good book for my dad on classic cars. He's in an assisted living facility and has a degenerative disease. So he can't do a lot. Physical is very limited. He was an auto mechnic for years on his own cars and other small motors. Was a hobby for him. I wanted something fun but informative for him to look thru and enjoy. But also with Wording to read. This book hit the nail on the head. I can not wait to give him this book.

quality and presentation 10/10

I ordered the book for my boyfriend so I can’t say much about what’s in it other than that it looks great even for someone who doesn’t know a thing about cars. I can however tell that for a book sold as a tabletop one it came in less than great shape… One of the edges is scraped/smashed. As you can see I just took it out of the box, and I know the fault isn’t on the postal service’s side because the packaging is in pristine condition.

If you are an avid fan of the American cars and admire the beautiful designs then this is for you. I love the illustrations and photos. The indepth history of each model adds depth but honestly I love the designs and this book showcases them. Such a gorgeous era I automotive history.

Bought as a gift for my husband. He absolutely loves it.
