Top tier system
I had never heard of Nakamichi before when I was searching for a wireless soundbar then I came across this. I previously had a Samsung 2.1 channel sound bar and was always getting complaints about not being able to hear anything or any details, especially voices. Even when the soundbar was turned up to 70+, it felt like it didnโt really get louder past 50, but just noisier and you could hear the static. I took a chance on this nakamichi soundwafe and was beyond impressed. The set up is easy, no issues at all with connectivity. It is pretty much plug and play unless you want to fine tune the system, in which case thereโs an app that helps you and a manual that covers the remote functionality very well. Once I was up and running, my oh my, the sound was clean, loud and provided a movie theater like experience. I love that the soundbar tells you what type of audio is being passed to it (Dolby atmos, stereo, surround, etc). I use this with my Nvidia shield and it has significantly enhanced my movie watching experience. Volume 3 is perfect, I went up to 10 and it was loud and it felt like the system could be comfortably pushed even further producing clean sound. One last thing Iโll mention is the customer service. It is the best Iโve ever seen, theyโve reached out several times to ask me how things have been going. Replied to every message Iโve sent and even has a concierge support that has a live person on the other end of the phone (I called on a Sunday Night). Amazing product and even better customer service. Worth every penny.

Great not just good. Great
โญโญโญโญโญ The Best Home Theater Upgrade Iโve Ever Made โ A True Cinematic Beast I upgraded from the Shockwafe Ultra 9.2.4 to the new Shockwafe Ultra 11.2.6, and I can honestly say: this is a whole different species of home theater system. The first thing I noticed is how clean and effortless the sound is. The 9.2.4 was powerful, but this new system feels refined. Every detail is crisp, every effect is precise, and the room just fills with sound like itโs nothing. The Punktkilde drivers and new DSP processing take clarity to another level. ๐ฌ Surround Experience I was worried about losing my old wired rear surrounds, but this system proved me wrong immediately. The wireless bipolar surrounds make it feel like I have more speakers in the roomโnot fewer. The entire sound bubble feels wider, fuller, and more immersive. The height channels are incredible. In Atmos movies, sound moves around and above you with accuracy Iโve never heard from a soundbar system. ๐ฅ Bass That Hits Harder AND Cleaner Let me talk about the bass: I actually had to turn it down. The new dual 10โ subs hit with authority but without the muddy rumble you get from lesser systems. Explosions, engines, impactsโthey slam hard, but stay clean. When I tested the seismic charge scene from Attack of the Clones, it was pure chefโs kiss home theater perfection. ๐ก Wireless Stability My old 9.2.4 sometimes had WiFi interference. This new system? Rock solid. Not a single pop, drop, or hiccup. Everything connects instantly and stays locked in. โ๏ธ Build Quality & Performance The whole bar feels premium. Every channel is more dynamic, more accurate, more controlled. Dialogue is clearer, surround effects are smoother, and the system stays distortion-free even at high volume. It takes everything I throw at itโStar Wars, War of the Worlds, sports in 4Kโand just flexes. ๐ 4K Sports Sound AMAZING Watching live football in 4K feels like being inside the stadium. The crowd ambience fills the room while commentary stays perfectly centered and clear. When switching back to 1080p broadcasts, the difference is night and day. โญ Final Verdict This isnโt just an upgrade. This is a full home theater transformation. Nakamichi took everything great about the 9.2.4 and evolved it into something more immersive, more powerful, and more refined. If you want true cinematic sound without building a 10-piece receiver setup, this is the system to beat. Easily the best soundbar home theater system Iโve ever owned.

No need to go to theaters.
09/18/25 This is for nakamichi shockwafe wireless 11.2.6. Not sure why reviews for past nakamichi products are on this posting for the sohockwafe wireless but meh. Any who. I had my eye on this system for the better part of 6 months since announced around February of 2025. Since my old system was annoying me to the point of just throwing it out along with the trash. In comes the Shockwafe almost like a sign from the speaker odds. I left the thought marinade in my head until August, when i pulled the trigger on this. So far.... no regrets.... As i said august 1st i ordered it and by the 7th of august, it was sitting at my door. Amazed at the three fairly bulky packages i had to lug in. "lug" is an understatement. Two of the three packages were quite the adventure getting them in the house and down to the room where they are gonna live. The packages themselves were nicely fortified, although the soundbar one had a noticable gash in it but luckily it was not in a critical position. Setting it up was fairly eazy, hooked up the sound bar to my tvs arc port and it "just worked" not sure of if its mandatory, i waited to turn everything on for the first time until i had everything pulled out and all speakers placed. **note i will warn you before you play your first source turn down the volume. Upon turning on soundbar for the very first time. Volume is set at max "30" this system is "llloooouuuudddd" I really hope that with future upgrades they reduce the default volume level to at least half way. I would really hate to attempt a firmware update at 1am only to scare the soul out of everyone at home. Now for the meat and potatoes. Firing up the system for the first time. The sound was.....im sorry but meh. Dont get me wrong the subs are boomy, but there was no "bubble effect" like the hype videos said. Sounded a little flat. But then here comes the "firmware upgrade" the firmware upgrade came in one day in a little usb flashdrive before the whole system showed. I decided to listen to the system "out of the box" for the whole first day. Next day i decided to do the firmware update. Following nakamichi's instructions, resetting setting right after (watch the max volume) quite literally took 15mins to complete. I watched youtube vids on my phone during this time. After the update, i did notice a significant difference. A "bubble" like difference. I do notice before the update the system would not play nicely with the remote app, after the update, you can do practically anything with it. Hell you can put away the remote it comes with and just use the app. Take a few minutes to do the advanced system calibration through the app it make a further difference. I know alot of people like to dump on nakamichi for being behind the curve on things like mic assisted calibration, or room correction. They probably think with more bells and whistles the more that can go bad. Im all for that thinking. Im also beginning to like what this system does with 2 channel stereo music videos it enhances the music effects and harmonys by putting them on the rear speakers on the fly. The nakamichi theater app....can use some TLC. Two major problems neither are deal breaking but could use some fixing. First is the apps tendency to not be able to sometimes connect to update servers to find updates. although im not sure whether this lies with the soundbar or the app. Every so often the app would fail to connect to update servers due to a wifi disconnection. So i would have to reset wifi connection through soundbar and reconnect by app. Next would be using the custom calibration option. After inputting measurements for speakers, clicking save a loading circle appears and never progresses from there. It seems to update sound bar with calibration measurements cause sound pauses momentarily and sounds different. (UPDATE: OCT 17: I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE ISSUE MIGHT LIE WITH MY PHONE. I NOTICED WHEN APP FAILS TO CONNECT WITH SOUNDBAR , I TRIED TO RESTART PHONE AFTER; PHONES REGAINES CONNECTION) I know the shockwafe wireless is barely in its infancy, those are the only two issues i found with it. (Yeah first world problems) So for the verdict. if you got the money to blow. And the wife/GF doesn't want to murder you upon seeing you bring this monster through the door. Do it. (JUST WATCH OUT AFTER RESETTING IT WILL SCARE THE SOUL OUT OF YOU)

Loud, deep, and actually feels like a theaterIโm
Iโve tried a lot of soundbars and this one is just on a different level. It doesnโt feel like a โsoundbar systemโ at all, it feels like a full setup. The first thing you notice is the bass. Those two 10โ subs hit hard. Not just loud, but deep. You actually feel it, especially during movies. Explosions, engines, even background rumble, it all comes through strong without sounding messy. The surround sound is what surprised me the most. Stuff actually moves around you and above you. Itโs not fake or gimmicky. Watching movies with Atmos finally makes sense with this setup. Voices are clear too, which matters because a lot of systems mess that up. Even when things get loud, you can still hear what people are saying. Music sounds good as well. I wasnโt expecting much there, but itโs solid. Plenty of volume and it fills the room easily. Setup takes a bit because there are a lot of pieces, but itโs not hard. Once itโs set up, youโre good. The wireless subs and rear speakers make it way easier than running wires everywhere. Overall, if you want something that actually sounds big and immersive without building a whole system from scratch, this is it. It hits hard, sounds clean, and just makes everything more fun to watch.

It hurt, but it was worth it.
It hurt to drop $1800 on a stereo system, but I'm stuck at home daily and I miss being able to feel the music. The system doesn't disappoint and I love the bluetooth connectivity. It was extremely easy to set up as the surround sound speakers automatically connected to the soundbar -which is huge. Dual subs really balance out the bass delivery. As per other reviews state, it has dropped connection to the surround speakers once or twice, but it always comes back after changing inputs or resetting the soundbar. It's annoying but overall not enough to be a bother.

Lives up to all of the promises.
Great theatre sounds feels like IMAX with 85" TV. Impressive audio, speaker system disappears and surround mix places you exactly in the moment. Huge value vs. traditional receiver + speaker systems. Perfect for action and intense movies. Monsters, and dinosaurs are delightfully terror inducing. Wireless ๐ implementation works wonders and makes installation really easy. Easily tweaked for multiple sources and mixes. Nice matte black design blends easily without intruding on interior design elements.

This system will blow your socks off! (Literally)
Oh my! I never write reviews but this system truly blew me away. To be fair, I had a dedicated system with a receiver, a dedicated amp, equalizer and 4 surround speakers, center channel and 2 powered subwoofers. I was quite reluctant to take down that system and go with the shockwafe setup. Brandon was so helpful before, during and after the purchase. I explained my current system and he immediately knew what the differences would be when I got the Shockwafe. He was completely honest and transparent and never tried to "sell" me. The Shockwafe is certainly different than the system I had but not in a bad way. My old system was a focused sound relying on pure power. The shockwafe opens the space up and truly shines during movies! I now sometimes flinch sitting on the sofa as a bullet whizzes by! The system has plenty of power and fills the entire first floor with a clean, bright pleasing volume. I do feel sorry for my neighbors! I never watch a movie with volume above 25.... and it goes all the way to 100! The sound quality is superb and even after listening to music for hours there is no ear fatigue. I love, love, LOVE the wireless setup. It's perfect and pairs flawlessly every time. I actually removed like a mile of wiring when I installed the shockwafe. I do wish the bass had a bit more punch at times but overall, you'll feel the rumble. If you're reading this, I seriously recommend you make this purchase. I am ecstatic!

Be ready for how large this system is
The amount of sound you'll get out of this system is ridiculous, if you're wanting to replicate or even surpass a cinema sound stage without spending thousands building a full system yourself then this is, in my opinion, the best way to do it. The bar itself is 4 1/2 feet wide and 9 inches deep while weighing in at over 30 punds, make sure you have enough space for the bar itself, it utilizes every inch of this space to produce as much sound as you could ask of it and stays clear until beyond the point of it being uncomfortable to listen to. The 10 inch subs do a phenomenal job of shaking the house without being overbearing compared to the rest of the system, I'm assuming this is due to the downfiring design, and with their size could make for great end tables as they're about 1 foot x 1 foot and as tall as the arms of my couch. The surround speakers are some of the best I've owned at giving a full surround/atmos effect, and don't think I've forgotten to mention their size too as I'd say they're about twice the size of the surrounds from the system I upgraded from. Coming from a Samsung Q990C to this is an amazing experience, while I do miss the AVA the Samsung system offers as it's ability to make voices clear as day no matter what is going on in whatever you're watching, this system's ability to give the cinematic feel is even greater, I would recommend this system to anyone looking to upgrade their sound system as it is very easy to use and with their new AHD features gives an amazing all-encompassing sound stage, the only exception being if the person looking to upgrade has a problem with distinguishing voices and is trying to get past having to use subtitles, in which case I would recommend a Samsung system for their AVA functionality. To close out this paragraph of a review I could not be happier with this system, the ease of use, overall quality, and impressive sound output has led this to being my favorite sound system I've ever experienced.
