I lost the original power cord for my WD external hard drive and this was the perfect replacement. It fit my My Book drive exactly, and it powered up with no issues. The cord length is good and it feels well-made. It's a great, affordable solution to get an old drive working again.

Did you borrow it and not put it back? I was going to back-up the computer and I had the drive in hand but after going through an entire box of cords, I discovered (very rudely, I might add) that there was NO 12-VOLT DRIVE TO BE HAD!! I could not believe that not one of the cords in the clear plastic shoe box would work. They were all 4 or 5-volt! A bazillion of them and not one had enough juice to power-up the BACK-UP! What can I say. It's a cord. It doesn't feel cheesy or cheap. It feels durable. It feels like it will protect my precious data. It's black. It has a boxy thing with two prongs at one end. It has a long covered wire cord that ends in a shiny connector. It works. It powers up the back-up just find and dandy. Since purchasing this, I was self-shaming until I sat down and labeled every cord and actually paired-up things that I didn't know had been separated. It was a blessing of self-esteem. All because I bought this cord. Cheaper than seeing a therapist down the road.
